Utah Jazz rookie sensation Donovan Mitchell has won over the local community with his play on the court for the Jazz who after Thursday hold the fourth-seed in the Western Conference after defeating the Los Angeles Clippers, 117-95.
Along with his play, Mitchell has won the Wasatch Front over with his engagement in the community. According to Salt Lake Tribune Jazz beat writer Kyle Goon, Mitchell was rocking BYU socks in his post-game interviews with the media on Thursday night.
Apparently, Mitchell wore University of Utah socks recently as well, so he had to rock some BYU socks as well.
Mitchell: “I gotta rep both sides. I can’t just wear Utah socks and not wear BYU socks.”
Earlier this year, the BYU Basketball program sent Mitchell a swag bag of Cougar gear to make sure he was reppin’ the Y.
Mitchell is close to BYU basketball star Elijah Bryant and he went to watch Eli and crew this past season against Portland in the WCC season opener last December.
This kid can do no wrong. Showing support for both byu and utah, how can anyone not love the Spida!
