Donovan and Dennis need your help, JazzFanz! -- Lakers @ Jazz 4/3/2018 7:00 pm MST

The Jazz outscored Atlanta in the 1st quarter. How did they get punched in the mouth early and wilt in that game exactly?
As I said sometimes we can rely strictly on our talent. We may have had a lead but we never got into any sort of rhythm.

Its a pretty simple concept and happens to a lot of teams, I'm not sure what's so difficult to understand.

You are just saying a sports cliche and applying it to the Jazz. You arent using any hard evidence.

Jazz move up to 5th and would play the hot Spurs. Not a match-up I want in the first round. I would rather play portland or minnesota than the Spurs right now. Maybe the Spurs catch portland and we end up playing them. The West is so tough even the first round matches are going to be competitive.

The Spurs are "hot" because they've played a ton of home games.

They've now lost 10 of 11 on the road .

Not hot .

People expected us to destroy the Lakers but it's not that easy. They haven't been soundly beaten by anyone in their last 19 games. For instance, they lost by 10@ind, 11@gs, 9@den, 5vspor and they won @sa and vsden. It's not that easy and today they were on fire.

Things to improve asap:
1 Turnovers. Some of them are ugly, and most of them are condensed in chaotic minutes that cost us huge runs.
2 Free throws. WTF is going on? It's a miracle when they make both. Today, Jazz players not named Ricky went 10/20 from the line. Opponents shoot the 3 almost as good as we shoot FTs.
3 Opponents can't shoot 50% from 3 every game. Stop it.
4 Hands(related to #1). I love Rudy with all my heart, but what's wrong with his hands? Everytime a teammate wants to feed him in the post, you have to pray he doesn't fumble the ball. Also, how many offensive rebounds does he miss because of this? Favors is the total opposite. Can't they work together on this?
5 O'Neale. It would be huge if he could get his confidence back and be the guy he was in february.

Regarding Rubio, he was famous for being a terrible shooter who got hot for stretches. So what's the difference? The length of those stretches:
First seasons, they lasted a couple of weeks. The following seasons they were 1 month, maybe 2. Last couple of seasons, they were post all-star break.
Now, it's almost like he's had a season with good shooting %s lowered by a bad stretch: november and december.

Since January 1st, basically half a season: 188/428 FG 55/133 3PT 127/138 FT

44 FG% 41 3PT% 92 FT%

******** comment anyway. We've lost 5 games in the last 2 months.
This. I was thinking the same thing.
With what has happened this season im surprised at how many people still seem to be down on the jazz so often.

4th place!
The dream scenario is that we stay in 4th and pelicans get 5th. Or we get 3rd and new Orleans get 6th. Also with new Orleans being more east we would get some earlier games hopefully.

Has it been mentioned that tonight was Donovan's first 1-footed dunk of his career?
When I saw I was just about to comment on it and got distracted by my kid and forgot about it.
Pretty cool to see and it looked pretty effortless. He wasn't as high about the rim as normal but it wasn't like a joe ingles dunk or anything either. Gave me hope

If someone read through this thread and didn't watch the game they would think rudy kinda sucked.
Yet he ended up with 12 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks and a plus minus of +17.

pretty good game for sucking so bad

It was just an innocent comment when we were down 10+. I have no clue why I'm getting so much slack for it but whatever. You dudes may disagree but I think it's why we have struggled with lesser teams the last 2 weeks.

We have not been playing consistent basketball since PHX. Before that we were playing pretty steady and winning by an average of 17 points over the 8(9 but I didn't include Sac) game winning streak. Since the Kings game, where it came down to a Gobert block, we have been hot or cold and we've been particularly cold against non-playoff teams. Other people have called it "playing down to our opponent" but I think it's been teams coming out and giving it their all and taking it to us, getting us off our game. Thus the "hitting us in our mouth" comment. Yeah, it's a cliche term, it wasn't meant to be a profound eye opening journey through a sports comment section.

By no means am I "down" on this team. This has been one of the greatest sports seasons I've endured for any on my sports teams. Again, I was just simply pointing out that we seem to lose focus when lesser teams come out and play with more aggression. In those regards, I think "hit us in the mouth" was a proper way of explaining it.

^^You fail to see those lesser teams tend to give problems to ANY team, even though they eventually lose. Last night Dallas beat #3 Portland, BTW.

I never once said this doesn't happen to any other team. Dallas did to Portland, what teams have done to us. Hell, Dallas even did it to us not too long ago and played us tough. These better teams are getting beat because they are allowing the lesser team to rough them up and play the game they want. When we beat Golden State by 30 we did it to them. A healthy Golden State is a championship team, we came out and turned them into mush.

I should just let this go, but I'm honestly baffled that my comment has been taken so out of context.

I'm baffled by your bafflement tbh. This is Jazzfanz after all.
