Donovan is pissed at some stupid Jazz Fans

No, he’s a good person and has his teammates back who he sees every day. Mitchell has the right to say whatever he wants, and he also has every right to walk one day too. You’re the one with an entitled attitude saying a player can’t stick up for his teammate.

BS...
I didn't say he couldn't say it - but he leaves himself open to critique when he does.

I feel this is a little naive of Mitchell. It's nice and all that he wants to stick up for his buddy, but why name and unintentionally shame Hood! This is dumb as... Just drawing attention to it as some other posters stated.

Secondly, don't go telling fans paying good money that the players are working their butts off. Give me a break. The booing is not about effort its about being ***..
Sure it aint my style to boo players specifically - but I would be booing the organization and coaching staff at this point...

DM comes off looking a little too sure of himself when he implores fans to act as he desires them.
He didn't name and shame him. The reporters were asking about it after the game. It was out so he defended him.

I agree. If I was in attendance I would never boo our own players. It doesn't help anyone.

I just think frustration is building for everyone involved with the Jazz this year. The fans, the players, the coaches, everyone. This isn't how anyone wanted the season to go. It's just tough.
Hill and Hayward left. Rudy has been out over half the games. What the hell did people expect?

Hood shot 1/7 (all 8 shots were bad looks with a hand in his face) in only 6 minutes before fans strarted booing. Jazz fans weren't booing Rodney on a personal level. They are booing terrible basketball.
They weren't all bad shots, but for fun I'm going to go back and examine all of his shots in his first stint on the court...

1st shot: https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...tle=MISS Hood 12' Floating Jump Shot&sct=plot

This is a classic example of what Zach Lowe talked about with Hood settling for his comfort floater. It's not a terrible shot, but he takes one more strong dribble he can force the defense into a tougher situation. Sabonis would have to step up and he could either attempt a lefty layup (his strong hand) off the glass, or try to wrap around a pass to Favors. He would also have Mitchell in the corner if he drove it to the baseline.

2nd shot: https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...p Bank Shot (3 PTS) (Mitchell 1 AST)&sct=plot

Not a great shot, but also one I don't mind Hood taking. Oladipo had a good close out and manged to bother Hood, but Hood got lucky.

3rd shot https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...18&title=MISS Hood 24' 3PT Jump Shot&sct=plot

Not much to say. Great shot, just missed it.

4th shot https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...18&title=MISS Hood 25' 3PT Jump Shot&sct=plot

Same play as the 3rd shot. Great look, just missed it. These are the kind of shots we pull our hair out over a guy like Ingles passing up

5th shot https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...18&title=MISS Hood 24' 3PT Jump Shot&sct=plot

Semi-transition open 3 on a great pass and find by O'Neale. This is a great shot, again, he just misses it.

6th shot https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...title=MISS Hood 13' Pullup Jump Shot&sct=plot

First shot I can say I really have a problem with. He puts Al Jefferson in a transition PNR (great idea). Then drives the ball into him, only to pull up. If he is goign to take the jumper in this situation, he needs to abort one dribble earlier and rise for the 16'. Here he kind of commits to half way driving and it just ends up being a contested, slightly off balance jumper. Again, one more dribble puts Jefferson in a tough spot.

7th shot: https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...18&title=MISS Hood 25' 3PT Jump Shot&sct=plot

The best shot of the bunch. Wide open and in transition.

8th shot https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...ood 11' Turnaround Jump Shot (5 PTS)&sct=plot

This is a move Hood seems to be doing once a game recently. He recognizes the mismatch and gets his guy in the post. Great move to get a wide open push shot in the middle of the paint. I'd like to see more of this. He can't get on top of the rim or blow by anyone, but he can be crafty in the painted area if he wasnt so eager to pull up for difficult shots or trying to barrel into defenders.

I was reading his tweet.
But I didn't realize he had been asked about it already in the post-game...
Makes some more sense now..

Ive seen crowds boo teams, this was directed at Hood and corresponds with the hate he’s getting on social media. Some Jazz fans burned by a bridge with Mitchell tonight, and for an embaressing reason.
I'm not sure what hate he's getting I Twitter or whatever, and if it has to do with the stupid phone thing, but this booing was pretty much about him sucking it up tonight. I don't like that he was singled out, but this happens in the NBA. Smart was booed by Celtic fans. Parsons has been booed by Grizzlies fans. Myers Leonard by Blazer fans. Covington booed by 76er fans.

It's dumb but it's hardly unique to Utah. It's less unique the worse a team is.

They didn't expect Hill and Hayward to leave probably.
Then they didn't expect Q to try turning Rubio into Steph.
Then they didn't expect Hood to virtually regress (not really)
They didn't expect injuries which lead to built up frustration
They didn't expect Q to roll out failed lineups time after time
They didn't expect Jingles to go 0 for his last 50
They didn't expect to be 9 games below 500

Mitchell is the most important guy on this roster. He is this franchise. Want him long term? Guess what? He does have the power to sway fans attitudes if you want his talent on your team.

Dude, just stop. You sound more and more like an idiot with each letter you type.

Given the circumstances as a fan, and all those things happening. Yes I would expect to have this record. Anyone who didnt is naive.

Yep. That settles it pretty convincingly in my mind. The people who booed should be embarrassed. What a horrible message to send. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad shots, we will boo you if you miss. That's with Ingles playing scary to shoot like when he first came on the team and the team needing offensive jolt like never before. Just ****ing embarrassing!

My friend did it so I had to too.....

Hood Turnover: https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...title=Hood Bad Pass Turnover (P1.T5)&sct=plot

Again, Hood aborts his dribble too early. He takes the extra dribble and he has JJ open in the short corner.

And here is a good example of a bad Hood drive this year
: https://stats.nba.com/events/?flag=...017-18&title=MISS Hood 13' Jump Shot&sct=plot

Clearly he knows he needs to try to get to the rim and be aggressive, but he does so in such an untactful way. He literally just drives in a straight line, which he isnt fast enough for, and lowers his shoulder. Probably should have been called for a charge, but he still picks his dribble up too early. Hood has to slow down and use his craftiness with the ball to get under defenders and draw fouls throwing his arms into people when they get off balance, not by trying to play bumper cars.

Great breakdown.
But don't you think there is a build-up to these things? Not just one game.
Having said that, singling out Hood sucks - he hasn't been horrific and still shows glimpses of excellence.
