Donovan Mitchell on reports that relationship between he and Rudy Gobert has deteriorated: ‘That’s not true’

Jazz guard pushes back on reports that tensions have flared up between the two teammates

Reports had bubbled up over the last few weeks and again in recent days that tensions were flaring between Mitchell and Gobert, but when Mitchell was asked about his relationship with Gobert on Friday morning, Mitchell completely dismissed any notion that there is trouble in paradise.

“No, no, no, no. We’re good,” Mitchell said. “That’s not true.”

Mitchell said that he wasn’t sure where the reports were coming from or what the source for the reports was. He assumes that the reports are a result of the team having a rough stretch over the last month and a losing streak — now is the time when people will be predicting doom for the Utah Jazz.

I wasted a bunch of my time.

Locked on Jazz today broke down best pick and roll duos in the NBA. Mitchell/Gilbert #1. Gobert/Conley was top 5 and Mitchell/Whiteside was #11. No other player was listed twice in a duo. Only Gobert and Mitchell.

The point is, both Gobert and Mitchell are very talented and they compliment each other very well. They realize this and if their is a strain in their relationship they should go to counseling and get it figured out.

So far, there is not strain in the relationship.

The rest is drama created by fans and media members trying to get a story. It’s ridiculous and should be ignored or condemned.

Makes me wish Mitchell would do a pick and roll w/ Gobert more, that's surprising it's #1. I think if he and the rest of the team passed to Gobert more, the "rumors" of a rift would die down a lot. Even if he doesn't accomplish a damn thing with them, Rudy getting 1-2 postups a game would make him a lot happier I think.

We better not act like fools creating problems where they don’t exist.

It appears to me that many Jazz fans never got over Hayward leaving. It’s a shame.

We ended up getting Bogey for cheaper. We won in the end. Get over it. Enjoy the team that you have!
