How you can tell Mitchell is an elite level talent and going to change this franchise? On a night that was hard and he struggled, he found a way to score 27 points. You would say this was a bad game for mitchell and he scored. 27 points. That is elite. To have a bad game and do that. He is a ****ing stud. We haven't had prospect like this in my lifetime.
That last shot is the sickest damn thing. Good lord.
And the best part is, it’s not just his game, it’s his attitude, it’s his cheering emphatically on the bench every game, it’s his leadership, its his intelligence, it’s his interviews, it’s his embracment of this franchise, it’s fanbase and community, it’s the fact this kid never seems to have an actual “bad day” that shows. Hes going to have an incredible career that he deserves. Some athletes have greatness but lack the humility and personality to really respect them or want their success. Donovan has both those things in spades, and he deserves everything that’s gonna come his way in a much bigger way than a lot of other guys that do the same kind of thing.
Beyond having one of the best players this quickly, the Jazz have never had someone that’s such marketing gold. You can’t not like Donovan, he’s something this franchise needed in bad way both on and off the court, and we got him at just the right time.

You said it, man. I have never felt so optimistic about the future of this franchise. I can't believe I am saying this the year after losing our star player but it doesn't matter--hayward leaving doesn't matter.
We have Mitchell and Gobert and these are two incredible foundational pieces the jazz haven't had since the glory days. We have a great front office and a brilliant coach, unarguably one of the best two young coaches in this league.
Who knows what will happen, but we have a legit path now.

Let's hope Mitchell stays humble. There was a time I kind of liked Curry because he didn't showboat. He hit shots and then just turned around and got back on D. And then he changed.

Could not have said it better. Can't believe it, but it is true. What a difference DM has made. This might be my favorite year yet. We lost Hill, Hayward, JJ and Hood, and none of it matters. SMH

Mitchell is a notorious gym rat in terms of his game. Even if he's fallen from grace, Rick Patino said it best. After his freshman year at Louisville, Mitchell was told by Patino he needed to develop a three point shot with some arc if he wanted to really make an impact. Low and behold the next season, Mitchell went and did it. After watching Mitch drain trei after trei in practice, Patino was gobsmacked. Paraphrasing Rick, he said he'd "never seen anything like it." But that's just an example of how good Mitchell is. Part of it is talent, but his work ethic is really why he will shine in the years ahead. He earns every damn bit of the accolades he gets. He knows it, but isn't cocky about it. He knows he can still learn more. That is what's scary about him. Knowing he will add yet more to an already great skillset? Oh boy.....
Garnett said it best when he said Mitchell "has that Alpha mentality in him. He wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line." Mitchell is going to be a bonafide superstar in this league, if not there already. And we see how much we suck eggs without Gobert. 10-2 is all I need to say. That Jazz have just built their foundation. Add to the mix guys like Favors, Ricky, and Ingles? That's a scary, scary starting five (assuming Ricky's shooting isn't an aberration. He's now 41% for the year, which is a career high for him). The thing is you can't leave them open or they will abuse you, as we've seen. The Jazz have a deep bench with guys like Crowder, Sofo, Royce, Jerebko, and Udoh. Utah is in a great situation right now. Lightning in a bottle, if you will.
DL and Quin are comparing Basketboners right now thinking about what happens next year. The streak won't last, but Utah has proven how "that damn good" they are when healthy. What they were missing was that alpha dog. Mitch is that alpha.
Honestly, I think if there’s anyone who won’t it’s him. I love when he does something he knows was amazing and has to force himself not to smile. I hope he never loses it, but he truly seems like someone who can handle what’s coming and stay a decent human being. The few interviews I’ve seen of his mom and dad show how good of people they are too. His mom did as good of job raising Donovan as anyone could hope, and I’m with you I hope he doesn’t lose it, but if there’s someone I’d believe will stay true to who he is, it’s him.
Not only did they not miss a beat, Jazz fans should be a little glad he’s gone. Idk if Donovan would be shining so bright right now if Hayward hadnt left, and give me DM to watch anyday.Haystack leaves and the Jazz don't miss a beat. Gotta love it
They don't bother me too much but if they really bother you-- you can select SAP and just listen to the arena noise without the TV announcers. No need to mute.
