Trying to put aside our bias as Jazz fans, where would you rank Donovan on this season alone? Not a future rankings, just on the performance of this season.

I feel like it's probably somewhere between 25 and 40.

I don't want to really dig deep on this but my gut says maybe as high as top 30. That's not crazy is it?

High scorer on an above average playoff team, although undoubtedly second best player on the team behind Rudy. Maybe 35?

Like other players who are comparable to Mitchell stats wise at his position are CJ McCollum, Victor Oladipo, and Bradley Beal.

I think Oladipo and Beal were both better than Mitchell this year. I think I would put Mitchell's season over McCollum's.

^It's crazy to look at a pre-season top 100 and see how much **** has changed in just a year^
Embiid at 68 sandwiched between Booker and KCP is particularly lulz worthy.

I also just realized he included rookies, and for some reason DSJr was the only (true) rookie to make the cut. Weird.

I mean, Embiid only played 38 NBA games at that point. And yeah, including a rookie was weird. I remember that being a (minor) criticism when I read it.

They also had Ben Simmons at #99.

For Donovan's ranking, 30 sounds about right to me. Which is insane when you think about it.

He was flipping brilliant today. Probably his best overall game of the season - not just a scoring barrage.

Alright I'm bored so here's the players I'd put ahead of him in no particular order:

DeMarr DeRozan
Kyrie Irving
Lebron James
Joel Embiid
Victor Oladipo
Giannis
Bradley Beal
Chris Paul
James Harden
Kevin Durrant
Steph Curry
Damian Lillard
Anthony Davis
LaMarcus Aldridge
Russell Westbrook
Jimmy Butler

So I've got him 17th best. I'd put Rudy probably in the late 20s.

Rudy in late 20s?? Wow. I'd put Rudy about at #10, myself.

Wut? No way Donovan is ahead of Rudy.

Based on what he's done when we've needed a spark I'd put him pretty up there too.

He averaged the 21st most ppg in the NBA. He was the leading scorer and most important player offensively on a top 4 team in the west.

His importance to the Jazz is kind of hard to quantify though. He was literally our only player creating offense for our team for good chunks of the season. How many games would we have won if we didnt have him this year?

If you want to say he was the second best on the Jazz this year I think that is probably true but arguable. He definitely was our most important on offense and Gobert was our most important on defense. But lets look at who is the second best player on the teams with our same records in the West. CJ McCollum, Paul George, Cousins or Jrue, and KAT.

I would rank him around 20-30. I think the intangibles and leadership put him closer to 20 but his stats put him closer to 30. I cant put him below that due to our record and his importance to getting that.

We got to see a big impact from Gobert due to him being out. But some of that had to do with our team gelling and getting rolling. We obviously went on a big win streak when Gobert first went down and then we had our really hard part of the schedule. When he got back we got rolling again due to him, Rubio playing much better, the schedule, and the team playing together better.

We didnt get to see what it is like without Mitchell for any significant time.

Call me crazy, but I think Donovan has had a better season overall than Rudy has. I think Rudy was definitely our best player last year, but I'd give the nod to Donovan this year. That may change long-term, I'm also factoring in injuries.
