Dallas needs a back-up PG or a starter if the Chris Paul recruiting fails. I don't think Dirk or Dallas will be interested in another rebelling, non-playoff year, so I think they might move the pick for a Danny Granger. If they keep it, I could definitely see them going for the German PG.
I'm hosting a party at Churchill Downs on Thursday that will have NBA personnel, scouts, media, etc. I'm waiting to post my mock until after that.
If we picked Zeller at 14 I'd be ecstatic... even with Schro on the board.
As for the fit.. I don't know that I know what our system really is.
I'm not obvious at all. Sometimes I actually sit down so I won;t make as much noise and wake up the wife and daughter. If the Jazz truly don't believe in Schroder, I could see them taking Zeller if he's there. Jazz need 3 bigs in the rotation...and I'm assuming nether Al nor Paul return.
I'd be excited to have 2 Haywards in the team, Gordon Hayward and Cody Zeller.
However if we don't get Schroeder in this draft? I'm gonna have to throw someone off a building.
A week ago I was thinking about this scenario of Trading with Dallas for Marion so that they could go after both CP3 and Dwight so I started trolling their RealGM board and basically it was a discussion and several of the knowledgeable fans talked about how they wouldn't be able to offer 2 max contract even if they cleared both Marion and VC. They also were all citing some local sports radio interviews where Mark Cuban was on the radio basically saying that their was no scenario that they could clear enough cap space (with the 22M owed to Dirk) to go after both top FA's.
Essentially what Cuban said was they will go hard after both (Preferably Dwight) and take whichever accepted their pitch first.
They also said that they still needed to have decent players to match up with other teams and that Marion was very highly valued and that his basketball opinion and IQ was something Mark himself tapped into for advice... kind of intimating that Marion is a highly valued basketball mind and mentor to Mark and that he is likely to be with the franchise for many years to come including after his career.
So I don't see that scenario happening after reading this.
What Chad Ford keeps writing is that to have enough cap room to offer a max deal they can't use their pick on a player coming over now. So either they convince a player to stay overseas (which they could convince Schroeder to do that) but more likely Dario Saric or they trade with someone for a future pick.... But.. my concern still lies with will they trade VC and jettison all of these "SMOKE SIGNALS" to sign their PG of the future... Schroeder.
But I don't think clearing Marion is in the cards.
I think if the Jazz made a pre draft move with OKC for #21 for the future Dallas pick and say #32... that might get us #13 this year in which case I would then take Schroeder and whoever slipped... starting with any big or POPE.

I remember almost all of the national and local media were hearing that we were going to pick Knight at #3 a couple years ago.
