Dunk Contest Odds

Donovan has some tremendous dunks but I kind of feel his are more based off of improvisation and being in the moment. At his height I'm a bit skeptical at his limitations as a dunk contest participant, but I'm not worried to find out, win or lose.

No.

I think his height is an advantage. Visually I think it looks better than a tall guy getting 3" off the ground and throwing it down.

His dunks are based on his amazing hops, hands, and body control. Have nothing to do with improvising in the moment or whatevs.

Have you not heard of Spud Webb?

My bet would be Oladipo. Sometimes the moment is too big for these knuckleheads and he’s a vet who’s really developed and seems to have better size than Mitchell to pull off some special stuff.

A lot of Donovan's dunk are based on power and aggression.

He isnt as nimble in the air as a guy like DSJ (and he cant jump as high).

Mitchell's advantage is his length/hand-size and ability to extending.

It's a 2 man contest.

I like smaller guys dunking, it looks better IMO. And Donovan really knows how to make a dunk look look mean. He really snaps the rim. I think his two foot jump is his biggest disadvantage because he doesn’t have much lift off of just one foot. He’ll do good, I’d like to see him and Dennis Smith in the finals personally.

His early dunk in the Rising Bile Challenge was damn good show-boating for in-game. Of course it triggered a slew of one-up attempts by others (LOL Tatum) that fell mostly flat.

He said he would have. Last year he said he wouldn't. He is vacationing 30 minutes away from LA.
I think he's actually going to the Saturday events. He's going to assist DM, isn't he? He would have been in the three point contest if the selection for these events was based on talent/stats. It's pretty obvious that it's not.

Rising Bile. That is awesome! Is rep still a thing, because I would if I could.

Weren't Oladipo's dunks super boring?

Ingles should be in the three point contest but they aren't sending multiple guys from Utah to the all Star game as non all stars. They seem to spread it around and I think Mitchell deserves to be there more, plus he was already there for the riding stars.

Pretty sure Royce is his teammate assist guy
