This guy's sure been annoying lately. First from all the drama around "gettin' him a new team" to throwing his teammates under the bus to now this fancy tidbit:

Dwight Howard scored 11 points on 5-for-15 shooting in a 99-94 win over the Bucks on Saturday, but did not touch the ball on Orlando’s final 14 possessions. The Magic scored on all but two of those possessions and outscored the Bucks 16-0 during the final six minutes of the period.

"I do want the ball more in the fourth quarter," a frustrated Howard said after the game.

"I want to become a closer. The only way you get there is by getting the ball and have coach have the confidence in giving me the ball.

"That’s how Kobe (Bryant) and the rest of the great fourth-quarter players got that way. It’s trial and error. When Kobe first got in the league, it took him a while to become the killer he is in the fourth quarter now. That’s because he went through that phase where he had to learn what shots to take and just get confidence in taking shots in the fourth quarter.

"That’s one thing that I want for myself, so I can become the guy who finishes games for my team. I want to be that guy whose team wants him to close games out for them. Coach just needs to have confidence in me."

I thought it especially cute that he said this after a win. I tire of the slack we cut these guys and how much we'll let slide because of talent in what's a team game.

On a side note, I like the headline of "J.R. Smith To Return From China This Week". It's kind of like those three are recently released POWs.

Stupid Magic. It's very rude for them to not help Dwight develop his 4th quarter presence, so he can be a better player for some other team.

Honestly, Dwight has achieved Carmelo-like douchebagginess, IMO. The only thing I like about him is the fact he doesn't want to be Kobe's sidekick.

What he said is wrong in so many ways, but what he said is so true in so many ways. Every time I watch the Magic I wonder why they don't pass to him more in the post instead of jack up threes. Yeah, he can't make a FT, bt when you have a low post guy like him, your offense should go through him.

 

[The Thriller]

Dwight can't make up his mind.

Sometimes he's upset because he feels like his teammates aren't good enough and complains about how he needs help. Then, when his teammates do the job he complains about not getting the touches and not having responsibility.
