We didn't "buy" the #39 pick. We traded 2 second round picks to get that #39.

I'd guess they are planning on re-signing Jordan Clarkson, that's step #1 and priority #1 in free agency. #2 is using the full MLE. Either on one great player (preferred) or on two players that are pretty good. Then round out the roster with minimum contracts.

I think his cap number is less than the minimum vet contract so I think they will roster him. Just cleared two roster spots. Helps them get just a little further away from the tax.
