Remember, if Lindsey's goal is a title, and we aren't skipping steps, and the only model that we can realistically follow is OKC's, then we will suck again next year.

Plus, adding Wiggins to the team will sell seats. Even if we are losing just as much as this year.

And the NBA is printing money right now.

Now is the time to tank. The only model we can follow to win a title is OKC's. Expect another rough year next year, only this time, Lindsey will remove the Williams, Jefferson and Hayward's.

Lindsey is not nearly as good at tanking as you think he is. He made a great trade in the off-season, and that's it. Lindsey's commitment to the tank is very overrated on this board.

How many more years do we have to tank to get the Merman Jordon then?

He had no idea Jefferson would play as well as he did. If Jefferson plays as expected, we are in the 2nd or 3rd position.

Again, it is with this team:

Burke, Lucas
Burks, DL scrub
Wiggins, DL scrub
Kanter, DL scrub...oops, I meant Evans
Favors, Gobert

You are forgetting JLIII who is on the books next year.
He will be a good veteran presence to teach the young players how to play.

not even sweatin

it only means we gonna get gordon this year, and get jabari or embiid next year. tank must go on

He didn't trade Marvin. That's all the convincing I need that he wasn't 100% committed.

Really? Your big argument is he didn't trade a mediocre, overpaid vet on his last year for a crappy draft pick and another mediocre overpaid vet with multiple years left?

Yikes.

My argument is that he didn't trade him for a bag of chips.

What's crazy, is I've been saying if you don't get Embiid/Parker/Wiggins you should tank again. Now I'm saying if you do get one of those guys you should tank again. Especially if you can end up with two of those guys!

Ha ha. Where my picture of tank commander John Lucas?

Embiid is the guy we need to draft. He is the only transcendent player in the draft. Kevin Pelton agrees with me that Wiggins does not rate well statistically.... I am not saying he will be a bust but he could be the next top 5 disappointment.

How is it even possible though?

You'd obviously have to let Hayward walk in free agency or something, then sign some guys for more than they're worth on 1 year deals.

I don't think it happens, though.

We'll most likely get someone good or GREAT in the draft, a new coach, re-sign Hayward, add a few decent guys in free agency and aim for the playoffs, but fall a little bit short in the end.

Zero percent chance Joel wont come out. If his back gives him issues going further it's going to cost him Millions. Parker will most likely come out. Duke won't be much better than they were this year. He wont get a NCAA title there.

Winning a title is so difficult in the NCAA due to single elimination. If that's the main reason he goes back, he's beyond retarded.
