What's new

Embiid has a new foot injury

I don't think so Tim.

Has a history of back problems and now has a broken foot.

In fact, we must have different definitions for a "steal."

A steal isn't drafting an injured raw big with a long history of back and foot problems who will most likely fail and set your franchise back for years. That's not a steal in my book.

What's a history of back problems? Is one injury history? Also is his foot broken or badly bruised? How did it happen? Was it something basketball related or an in home accident. You don't even know how his back check out or anything at all about his foot injury.

Other then Jonathan Draftexpress writers are nothing more then fans that Jonathan gets press credentials for. I should know, I used to be one of them.

Also never trust anyone named Gunther... just a solid policy.

Sorry for the derail, but what in the hell are those?!?! Looks like some kind of enemies of the power rangers or something.

Hey look, it's the foot clan. There's Ming, Walton, Ilgauskas, Borschardt and Embiid!

If Bowie is available, you take him at #5 and you don't think twice about it. Easily worth the risk.

The dude has the potential to be the best player from this draft, and I actually want to win a championship at some point…so yeah, I'd take him. If he flops, he flops…but if he doesn't, then we're golden.

Fixed

Trade Favors and Burks for #1 - draft Jabari or Wiggins

Draft Embiid at 5

Trade Kanter to Kings for 8 - draft Gordon

Tank again - draft Okafor next year.

Just keep tanking

Holy hell dude!

Have you seriously not heard of his back injuries in high school? Read up on them!

One of the major problems with this board is that people who have no idea what the hell they're talking about have some of the strongest opinions.

If we had the 1st pick, I wouldn't take him. We don't have the first pick though, we have the #5 pick.

Do we have a Michael Jordon type that's going to be on the board? Unlikely. Wiggins and Parker are going to be gone. So yeah, your comparison sucks. But I mean, if you would rather take Aaron Gordon, Noah Vonleh or Marcus Smart over Embiid, then you go for it bub.

You don't know if there's an MJ or not. We do know that Embiid is broken goods. A big with a long history of injuries.

Bowie didn't go #1

Again, if Embiid is on the board at #5, that means that Wiggins, Parker, Vonleh, and Exum (or Smart) are probably gone. Who are you taking over Embiid?

We don't have anything to lose, might as well go for it. He's worth the risk.

No never heard it mentioned before. Which is why I asked you a series of questions.

It appears the biggest problem on this board are people making ***es out if themselves just for the sake of being rude.

I didn't realize he had issues in HS either... That is a bit concerning. Some 7 foot bodies just aren't meant to play ball. I don't think he's Oden though. I am basing that solely on the fact that I didn't like the way Oden ran the floor in college and Embiid looks like a deer when he runs. There were more signs on Oden too. I think Embiid will contribute, but with his lack of experience combined with these issues it would still be a little tough to take him at 5.

Don't get fired Lindsey!

Yep.

It's everyone else's fault that you failed to read about Embiid.

Reread your original post when talking about one's civility.

Thanks, Thriller.
You are correct. His HS coach reported he started to have back issues at the end of his senior season. Maybe instead of Hakeem, Embiid's career trajectory is more along the lines of Emeka Okafor. Is a 13/10 big who is hampered by persistent injury flare-ups worthy of a top-5 pick?

BTW, remind me to rep you when I can. You've been the LONE person, AFAIK, who brought this up. Others have just said the back was taken care of and won't be an issue for him going forward.
