I think he has refused to do workouts with other players such as scrimmages. I may be wrong, so do not quote me or anything.
Last I checked he is on the list at the combine.

-nazr mohamed played against kanter one-on-one, and the teammates said, he dominated him. nazr is quite a solid defensive big.
-patrick patterson played against kanter and said, he would be on the same level as demarcus cousins.
-all his teammates talk that they can't guard him and that is also realy difficult to score against him. this means, he can't be that bad of a defender.
-harellson said that a mix of the three other best bigs in the ncaa produces an enes kanter. he would be agile and quick, he can score from inside-out and that he is strong and though. he said, he never has to play against a player of kanter's caliber in the ncaa and that he would pick him as the first pick most likely.
-if he played this year, he would be the obvious first pick in this draft!
-this guy is still 18 years old and his realistic case is a 19-9 player with an slightly above average defense. but the sky is still the limit. he has the body, the skillset, the work-ethic and the fundamentals along with his iq which realy make it almost impossible for him to not become one of the best big men in the league. players like him don't come along very often. worst case is an 15-8 player and the best case is a 23 - 12 player.
Looks like an allstar when no one is guarding him.
I'm waiting to see how things turn out at the combine.
I guess his 34 points (breaking Dirk's game record) and 13 rebounds in just 24 minutes against the likes of Jared Sullinger, Terrence Jones, Harrison Barnes, Irving, Knight, and every other stud in the Nike Hoops Summit game means nothing?
Let me repeat that. 34 points (on 13 of 21 from the floor) on a variety of low-post moves, put-backs and mid-range shots along with 13 rebounds IN JUST 24 MINUTES. Those numbers are insane. What's most impressive is his shooting form which is as good as many guards in the NBA. If the guy was getting by on size alone, I'd be concerned. But he is VERY young and VERY intelligent (learned great English in less than two years supposedly) and VERY passionate about the game and works VERY hard.
A lot of guys have size or athleticism or skill or all three but no drive or passion (see AK). He has it all. His athleticism is nothing special but it's certainly not bad and it could improve but with better conditioning and a strong work ethic, I don't see why that couldn't happen.
Note: He also had 21 points and 17 rebounds in his USA debut in the Jordan Brand Classic.
Great! But that was over a year ago. All of your cited players played and developed while Kanter practiced.
Again, waiting until after the combine.

Game time develops players more than practice ever can.
My point is not that he turns to garbage, but he might not look as good against those same players, because they got court time development, and he practiced.
He's been practicing, first with the team, then with an assistant coach, where I would argue he had more one-on-one attention to aide in his development.
May there be a one or two month learning curve, getting back into the groove of playing full-court games again? Sure but he's not going to just forget how to play and compete. And we're not worried about his first one or two months. We're sort of rebuilding and looking at the future and his future has waaaaaaay more of an upside than Knight who's shown very little in true point guard skills imo.
If you are talking about him at KU. Kanter didn't practice with the team. He helped the team practice. Huge difference. He was basically an assistant. I highly doubt he was part of practice in terms of actual game time situation practicing.
