Enes Kanter's National Team Participation

That isn't how the world works. The Turkish NT needs Kanter more than he needs them. So they are the ones to have apologize. If Kanter never plays for Turkey, then is hurt the most?

Huh? Turkey is apologizing for what, exactly?

Did u know a word like allegiance? How u think Kanter selected as a 3rd pick? Does he have any team career before Jazz? Turkey raised him, gave opportunity to play basketball and he had a chance to show his skills to get selected for the drafts. Also, why he declared " Playing for the national team is an honour for me in Lithuania"? The answer is to show USA and Jazz organization his health situation. So what happened immediately and he refused to play for the NT without giving an excuse or even not answering for the phone calls? It was big mistake and all NT has gotta have principles over players so Kanter made a mistake and behaved like spoiled child. I hope he gets matured and apologize for his idiotic attitude.

That is how Türkiye works.

What the hell you using? How logic is that now?

I think Kanter has to apologize 1rst to the turkish national team for not mentioning a reason and second to BIG-AL for taking away his playing time.

Look, I'm not from Turkey. It was Kanter, his skills and off the charts work ethic that brought him to the place where he is now.

His short High School performance and especially the Hoop Summit game was what brought the main attention. Not only the games for his national team. He could have gotten an other passport and played for an other national team, too if he wanted.

I hate the pride of some of you Turks. If Kanter did not want to play for you, accept it. It's his decision, period!

Who the hell are the people within the organization of the national team? They can't decide about Kanter's future. It's rather a player of Kanter's level that decides the destiny of your national team. You guys act like he killed someone.

Some of you Turks and his former turkish club wanted to destroy kid's career. And now you still treat him like a toy? If I was Kanter, I would not play for the turkish national team again as long as there are so many stupid people.

Killing a guy in the media who is 19 years old makes a lot of sense. His only fault is that he did what was best for him.

All the Turkish team did last time around was chuck 3's when he was in the game. I wouldn't want to play on that team either.

The national team needs Kanter. Kanter does not need them.
screw you cockbreath and this rant of yours, too.
It is an honour and privilege to play for the NT!
If you think otherwise, well you don't belong!
Dirk the Diggler for example always played for his NT!
If E. Kanter has your line of thinking; screw that cocky piece of ****, as well.

mods: sorry for this post, which is out of line. I am down for the penalty to be meted out.

Turkey's organization members are dumb.

Kanter is going to be the most dominant european Center in near future.

They don't have the luxury to not invite him. They have two solid Bigs in Omer Asik and Ersan Ilyasova but Kanter is the guy that should get 25-30 minutes off the bench since he is the only post scorer they have.

Kanter did a good job staying in the States and working on his body and game.

The turkish national team can kiss his ***. He was overweight and in bad shape over the summer and not ready to have a big impact. He did what was the best for him. Maybe with a little bit of a bad timing to refuse to play for the national team.

Some of my friends here that are from Turkey label him as a traitor. The real traitors are people that don't do everything to convince Kanter to play for them because he is a big luxury.

The national team needs Kanter. Kanter does not need them.

I stopped reading after the bold part.

Whew chill out tark. you are the exact type of turkish fan they are talking about... Why did you want Kanter on the team anyway? all the coach did was use him for 10 minutes a game to set screens for the point guard.

...and Turkey paid dearly for those mistakes.
but Enes was rusty back then, he was nowhere near to today's Enes ,sitting out an entire year at UK.
what he is doing is plain bad karma for a youngster like himself.
Here is hoping that he gets his act together, but sadly, I am not holding my breath.

And the entire offense was based around watching their guards shoot ****ty 3 point shots.

Kanter is cleaning himself from the poison he got in his past years rather than doing a bad karma. I have a positive impression about him that he is an educated and genuine person who knows what he is doing. I have respect for him for managing to avoid getting screwed up by the Turkish Basketball association and initiating a career of his own in Utah.

This. It really was like a competition of who could take the worst 3 point shot possible with every single guard they had trying to outdo the others.

So much antagonism.

How about this: Kanter should've played last year and everyone would've benefitted from it. Since he didn't, oh well.
