What are his plans? I have heard he's doing P3, but what else? Turkish national team stuff? Are the olympics an option for him at all? Summer League? I don't really know where to look and my general lack of a computer makes me especially lazy on doing research.

Just finished taking Utah Jazz big man Enes Kanter through his initial assessment at P3. Enes is an absolute beast, and at age 20 already one of the strongest NBA players that we have tested. His lower extremity bilateral force characteristics are very symmetrical in dynamic movement....Enes takes too long to reach peak force and needs to improve his hip extension, lower extremity power/acceleration and eccentric adaptation. He also reaches instead of drives when accelerating in all planes. We are very confident that we can improve these qualities, and enable Enes to become a much more explosive athlete on the basketball court.

I don't know if he'll compete in anything in Turkey, and I'm all but certain he cannot compete in the Olympics.

We won't be in OG. But there will be a qualification tournament for the Eurobasket 2013 in August. Enes Kanter will surely be called, I don't know if he comes though. If he comes, he may be our starting center in this tournament. Even if he doesn't start he will get 25+ mins for sure. There will be 8 games against Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic and Belarus. First game is on 18th August against Belarus.

You can find more info in wiki page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIBA_Eu..._qualification

Before this tourney, we probably will play several preperation games, most likely against the Olympic participants, Turkey is the ideal opponent for them to see their levels, I'm hoping for a USA-TUR friendly game if the schedules match each other.

Alright, cool. I had forgotten that Turkey screwed themselves out of a chance at the Olympics last summer.

At any rate, I hope he plays as much international ball as possible. Also, thanks.

He better not play any Football. NFL players that play basketball in the offseason always ruin their knees/achilles. It's only fair that this would go both ways.

Update

Ömer Aşık won't be in the Turkish NT this summer so Enes will most likely start and get 30+ mins if he comes. The preliminary squad will be announced on Wednesday. I'm sure Enes will be called.

Awesome. Thanks for digging this up and dropping some more hot knowledge.

I really hope it plays out that way.

Yep, like I said Enes is called.

But there is a "rejuvenescence" operation ongoing in our NT. That may not work so well for Enes. Because I think Tanjevic(our coach) wants to try as much as players he can. He called 10 big men to the 19 player-preliminary squad.

Semih Erden(C), Furkan Aldemir(PF-C), Dusan Cantekin(C), Sertaç Şanlı(C), İlkan Karaman(PF), Gökhan Şirin(PF), İzzet Türkyılmaz(SF-PF), Barış Hersek(PF), Emir Preldzic(SF-PF) are called as other bigs.

Enes Kanter / Semih Erden / Furkan Aldemir / Emir Preldzic will certainly make the team. But Tanjevic probably won't want to left out Dusan Cantekin / İzzet Türkyılmaz. So that makes 6 big men. Fortunately İzzet can play 3 as well and Emir can play 1-4 so in this case Enes could take 25-30 mins. But of course I want 30+ mins for him as a starter.

Further Info...

The team gather on 8th July and the next day will go to Italy for camp. I dont know what that means for Kanter, whether he will stay for Orlando Pro Summer League or come to the NT. In Italy there will be only condition training till 21st July. So I think Enes has the luxury to play summer league and then join to the NT.

Between 23rd and 27th July we'll play prep games against Bulgaria, Poland and Ukraine. Then after 2nd August, there are Germany, Finland and Iran prep games. Then after 7th August, Serbia, Hungary and Slovenia games will be played. As the last prep tournament we'll play against Germany, Finland and Poland once again on 11-12-13 of August.

And finally, games of the Qualification Tournament for Eurobasket 2013 will be played.

18 August: Türkiye-Belarus
21 August: Italy-Türkiye
24 August: Türkiye-Portugal
27 August: Chzech Republic-Türkiye
2 September: Belarus-Türkiye
5 September: Türkiye-Italy
8 September: Portugal-Türkiye
11 September: Türkiye-Chzech Republic

This all makes (12 preparation and 8 tournament games) total of 20 games. I think it will be very good for our big boy Enes Kanter.
