What's new

Eric Griffin

Jazz reportedly trying to sign him right now.

To a two-way contract.
I think another team may find a roster spot for him. Certainly he's shown enough to be at least a 14th/15th player on a roster.

Griffin has a guaranteed contract in Italy, right? Anyone know for how much? The Google has let me down so far. I do know a 2-way is only $75K guaranteed and a maximum of $275K. It depends on how many games they spend on the NBA roster.

Jazz going with vets on the roster and aren't willing to give him a rookie minimum deal. I'm sure the delay is his agent calling around for some kind of guaranteed or partially-guaranteed deal.

Probably because he'd rather live in America and be closer to being in the nba.

How much do Italian leagues pay and what is the tax situation playing on a work visa in a foreign country?

And something to consider: since Utah's D-League team is in the same city as the team (not sure how many others are like this, only other one I know is OKC) they should be a more attractive 2-way location as the logistics of completing the 45 days with nba team should be easy compared to other teams.

He seems like someone I would like to bring into the training camp, but if another team wants to sign him before then, then let them. HE IS 25/26 years old btw!!! NOT A ROOKIE YOU IDIOTS, HE IS A PAY GRADE ABOVE MOST PEOPLE IN THE SUMMER LEAGUE!!!!!! so, yeah... don't like, fall in love, watch him play against grown *** men, because he is close to his top level play right now, you want to throw a contract at him?? hahahah god, I'm glad you aren't in the Jazz F.O.

Yeah, everyone knows minimum partially guarantee deals bankrupt and handcuff teams all the time.

As Cy told you, it'd be a (below) minimum contract and only partially guaranteed. It couldn't be less harmful to the team's finances.

And what's with the attitude?

FYI: Eric Griffin has never played an NBA game. So, yes, he would be a rookie. Age has nothing to do with whether you are one or not.

You could've said that about Jingling too. How much did you watch of him in Summer League? He can shoot, handle, protect the rim, run the floor, make plays for his teammates, and has excellent quickness for his size as well as very good hops at 6-9. I think he could be a rotation player, which is why I think the Jazz will be lucky to sign him.

I find your passion and name calling on this matter fascinating and I look forward to future posts from you in regards to this topic.
