I could Balotelli had a lot of talent from the France game, but he just never finished. He finished today.

well, deserved win for Italy, I will be cheering for them to win it all. Spain is just to methodical and unimpressive this year. Yes they pass great and control the game well but I need to see more then just that.

But will Spain let their defense have those lapses which accounted for both of Italy's scores?

I think it came down to individual briliance of Balotelli more then Germany's defense. And in football single play by star player can make huge difference - I guess we will see during final.

By the way Balotelli reminds me of Westbrook a lot... crazy talent, no brains. When you read his interviews or sometimes see what crazy things he does on the field you wonder if everything is ok in his head...

Ahh, I don't know much about soccer. Just seemed like on the 2nd goal the defenders messed up.

Well I am devastated...

Italy deserves the win, no doubt. I'm just bummed that we switched tactics before the match. We run the same tactics for two years, and in the semis we decide to get cute. Klose should have started as well...

Both goals were mistakes by the German defense, however, Balotelli had a couple moments of brilliance that can not be denied.

Also, the beauty about the Euro cup is how much these games mean to the Europeans. When I was walking home in the little German village that I am spending most of my summer in it felt like a ghost town. The Italians beat us... I take my hat off to them. They played great.

You're definitely right here, not sure what AKMVP is talking about. The thing about Germany, or Spain, or any other great team is that they will play amazing defense until they are a goal behind. When Balotelli scored his first goal, it opened up the entire pitch for them, as Germany was then not really focusing on defense; rather, they constantly had player running up to try and score. Hence, thats why Italy almost stretched their lead to three goals like 5 times towards the end of the game. 2nd goal was a definite defensive lapse; first goal was definitely a little bit of luck. Thats how soccer works though.

Regardless, and more importantly, Andrea Pirlo has been the undisputed Player of the Tournament thus far. Italy would be absolutely nothing without him.

I am talking about perfect timing of Balotelli's sprint to avoid offside trap and get into position to score second goal. Could defense played it better? Yes, for sure but it was not such an obvious mistake. At the end of the day every goal can be blamed on defense making mistake, but in real world no matter what kind of prefect defense you play offense sometimes is better. I just give credit to Balotelli for superb finishing touches and ideal set up by Casano on first goal more then to blame Germany's defense. Now if we would talk about England's goal vs Ukraine - that is defensive mistake example nobody would be arguing about.
Agree about Pirlo - he is heart and soul of Italian team.

Two hours to the Final, Spain - Italy. I may not be able to watch it live but I hope it will be a great final game.

I'm gonna miss the game... blah. Anyways, history will happen tonight. Either Italy will win its first Euro Cup or Spain will become the first nation to win three straight tournaments (Euro-World-Euro). Should be an interesting match. First team to score will win this game.
