Eurobasket 2011: Turkey - England match is starting now. :) Live match Started

Oh my! Kanter's first bucket of the second half was beautiful. First, Luol Deng couldn't take Kanter off the dribble, had to pull up and missed. Kanter released on the shot, and got a perfect outlet pass from Hedo and finished with the two handed flush.

Unfortunately, after his dunk, Kanter lost his man cutting to the basket and had to foul him by the bucket. He then was called for a charge (I had looked away and missed it).

Not a good quarter for Kanter. 1-3 from the floor, 2 fouls, no rebounds. He also got beat by his man a couple times (one leading to a foul, the other leading to an easy bucket for Joel Freeland) .

Kanter has some flaws but he shows some promise and he will be better than Horford as some people compares being a 3rd pick so people should stop bitching about him, you cant get michael jordan in every 3rd pick

Kanter's third swat was vicious. Got switched onto Van Oostrom, who tried to take Kanter off the dribble. No such luck.

And to add to the "who does this commentator sound like?" talk, I think he sounds exactly like Howard Dean.

Kanter is coming along but has some work to do to become more effective. He has come a long way since that first game against the Ukraine. His defensive rotations and skill level must improve as it already has. He still looks uncomfortable out there to me sometimes, so in a way this is on-the-job training for him. He's responding fairly well. I also noticed he was passing from the block a lot more frequently and smoothly today. It really helped the overall smoothness of the ball movement. I often forget how many things he must be trying to improve after this long break from competition. Drills can only go so far. Turkey is making their shots now and the guards have been fairly good, but hopefully they don't get into a jump-shot match. Preldzic was impressive. He was often guarded by Deng and has a lot of skill.
