Eurobasket 2011: Turkey - Poland Starting Now!

Looks like its over then. Too bad, I really wanted to see Turkey in the next round. All these closely packed games are doing wonders for Kanter's development though. He has now even addressed his one weak point, passing out of the double team.

Not over. Turkey has a +44 point differential, Spain has a +46. That means, if Spain loses today, by anything more than 2 points, if Turkey beats them on Monday, they will advance. Right? In the event of a tie, the team with the highest point differential advances I believe.

Sloan's time had come. So too has AK's. I am of the opinion that we should not re-sign him unless it is insanely cheap, so cheap, that a trade months later would not be simply be possible but moreso, likely.

Utah would never do that. Ak has told them he would give Utah a hometown discount. That would be a dick move to take the discount, then trade it.

I hope we would get Emir preldzics rights as well in a trade of harris or jefferson. He will be very good in future

What everyone is confused about is, 2 team and 3 team ties, im trying to find the rules right now, but if it is 2 team tie and it is only about the game played between them, then we are probably out. I think spain will beat lithuania today and us tomorrow

Then if we beat Spain (assuming they lose today) they are both 3-2. We would get the tie breaker over them. I know that is unlikely, but possible.

so, kanter can be considered a good defender or not? he plays very solid one on one defense and plays solid help d and even his perimter d seems solid with his great quickness. he has improved in this aspect of his game, too. playing real basketball games do wonders for him. now we have two incredibly talented bigs in favors and kanter, we should build around those two guys in future. let them develop over the next few years and we will become a hell of a team. in three years, we might have the best big man duo or one of the best big man duos in the league. they both have great potential and will make some all-star appearances. it's a luxury to have a chance to built about two all-star caliber big men.

You will swallow your words back after a few years, his rights are already held by washington and he will be a quicker hedo. He just needs to bulk up a little bit

He is 22 already, no? He doesn't look NBA ready from what I can see. Hedo sucked in the NBA until he landed on the perfect team and got ridiculously overpaid from one good year.

it matters if Spain loses today. Then if Turkey wins vs Spain it will come to pt differential between games vs Turkey, Spain and Poland as they all will have three wins. Poland now has -4, Spain +5 and Turkey -1. So if Spain loses vs LT and Turkey wins by 1-9 points, Spain and Turkey would advance. If Turkey wins by 10+ it is Turkey and Poland. Of course if Spain wins today then Turkey's only chance is to pray for GB win vs Poland as that would put tiebreakers between Poland, GB and Turkey with 2 wins each where Turkey has huge point difference advantage. Not over yet as GB certainly can beat Poland.

Sort of like signing a 90M deal and then playing like a lazy, indifferent **** on the court. That's so much better.

Lol you really think AK is capable of playing up to a 90 million dollar contract? You are acting like it's his fault he isn't that good. It was a mistake signing him and it was a forcing him into a role he couldnt produce at.

in event of three team tie it is games between those teams that count for point differential. See my other post.

I could see GB over Poland. They both have weak big men, so Deng should be able to terrorize the rim with his attacking.

No, I'm not. I'm acting like it's his fault that he has done virtually nothing to work on his game, either from a skills perspective or a conditioning/physicality perspective until last year when he was noticeably stronger. Throw in his total indifference and lack of passion for the game and I could care less what we do with him if we were to sign him. The Jazz should feel the same way. Especially since AK's not cared one bit either.

Anyone here going to watch the Lithuania vs Spain match? I need to get some extra lotion from Salmon Hobo for Jonas's performance.

It's about the organization's integrity. You think anyone is going to want to come here if we dupe AK like that, not to mention how some players (not saying I do) may perceive trading Dwill without anyone notifying him.
