Great for Jeremy, and good for the Jazz.
Jeremy gets some longterm financial security and the Jazz get a guy still with the potential to be a bench player who can change the energy and momentum of a game. I doubt anyone (myself included) thought Jeremy would ever be getting a 3-year contract from the Jazz when he was drafted. I remember espn had virtually no info on Jeremy when he was drafted, and it wasn't until after some posts by Hilltopper that we learned Jeremy could play and wasn't just some skinny guy who tested well athletically.
Chad Ford's analysis when Utah drafted Jeremy: "Evans is very athletic, but he's a 190-pound power forward. He's the second draft pick who didn't make our Top 100. As we can see, late second-round picks can be pretty random."
Going into 2012-13 I would love to see Evans get a legit shot as the backup PF off the bench (with Millsap and Favors starting). I think he would complement Kanter's abilities very well in the second unit for a few minutes each night.
