Exum assigned to the Stars

Yeah, but I know there was no G League back then, but between Ainge and Toolson, it seems like Toolson would be more the guy up your alley.
The was the CBA before the GLeague and Andy Toolson shocked everyone by not only making the Jazz roster but starting at the 2.

22.2 min per game in rookie season is a lot. And he never cracked that number after. And he won't this year either.
Whoops I meant to say he did get a lot of playing time meaning he was playing for a reason.

I even confused myself by what I meant by that.

Exum Among Rookies Who Played as Many Minutes
Rank (Out of 295)
Player Efficiency Rating 5.7 295th
True Shooting Percentage .457 284th
Win Shares -0.1 282nd
Assist Percentage 16.6% 97th
Free Throw Attempts 32 295th
Points Per Game 4.8 293rd

Among the 295 rookies who played in the three-point era (starting in 1979-80) and logged at least as many minutes as Exum's 1,817, he was dead last in player efficiency rating. And he didn't fare much better in a number of other metrics.

And you should read the rest of the article as I think it explains a lot. He was plenty viable on defense. Dude was and still is insanely raw as my op suggested.

From your article

"Based on this model, Utah played at a 50-win pace when Exum was on the floor and a 34-win pace when he was off. It also estimated that Utah won at least seven more games just by having him on the team.

He was tops in "FATS Wins Added" for the Jazz"

Why’s he with the stars? To build up his confidence?

Or is it to help him get into shape?

Do most players recovering from injury play in the G League prior to returning to their normal NBA teams? Can we expect paul George in the G League? Was porzingas in the G League when he recovered from his torn ACL?

Am I missing something here?

He started half that season, how many rookies played as many minutes? It’s like saying “ of rookies born on a Tuesday with a mother named Mary”. So every rookie in his class was better, I think not. I agree he’s been a bust so far (mainly due to injury, but also not played as well as hoped) but you need a life other than Exum my friend. You’ve been going on for years now, we get it. At one point in this thread you have around five posts In a row almost replying to yourself, get a hobby or a girlfriend.

He’s not playing for he Stars. He was recalled to the Jazz straight after training. It’s purely to get reps in. They can’t actually make him play for the Stars anyway. We went through this a couple of years ago.

"He was recalled by the Jazz following practice, as the rehab assignment was part of his “return to play” protocol."

I can’t keep track of all of these Exum injuries and recoveries and reps with the Stars. Sigh

True, he had some value. Still does not change the fact that he was historically worst in all NBA history in numerous categories.

I'm actually really starting to look forward to Exum coming back. Watching Mudiay is starting to grind on me. I don't think he's a good fit for Quins system at all. He pretty much kills our ball movement when he's running the point, also turns it over way too much and doesn't seem to have a very high basketball IQ.

According to Larsen, Exum was just recalled from the SLC Stars.

Careful though, this goes against some on this board that are screaming from the roof tops that him being assigned to the stars is a all but a sign that he's done..

Truly speaking, the blind Dante supporters (I'm a 'eyes open' Dante supporter), and blind Dante haters are both bad, but the haters have really pulled ahead recently in being a complete joke.

I miss neto

I would agree with this. Mudiay is now out with hamstring tightness and we should really refrain from playing NWG against a Kawhi lead Clippers.

We will probably now have to spread the matchup combinations in a way that one of Donovan/Conley/Joe are now always on the court and handling the ball.

To your point, Neto could have been the security in this instance to put out on the floor.
