I'm making Exum MIP '19 my bold prediction for next season.
Just don't bet any real money on it.I'm making Exum MIP '19 my bold prediction for next season.
I wouldn't even compare those 2 contracts. Curry's injuries were fluke ankle injuries, Exum has had 2 blown out knees and a torn (?) shoulder. Completely different and more severe injuries than Curry.
I mean at least Brandon Roy and Oden (who were super injury prone) had some great seasons and stats to back it up. We can't ever say that about Exum
Purely a speculative JFC bragging capital investment.Just don't bet any real money on it.
Exum lasted 24 games before he pulled a hammy this year (including playoffs). The good thing is, Dennis is the GM and not Jazzfanz. If they don't think he can last, they'll let him walk. He's another knee injury away from being out of the league imo
Traditional stats yes he did. His stats were great in the time he was on the court. Per 100 he was our best assist guy and 2nd best scoring guy. What more do you want from a PG? I posted these already but ill post these again.Traditional stat-wise, no, he didn't. Nothing at least that screams "Give me 15 million dollars next season". His advanced stats were nice, but the sample size is very limited. That said, he did D up Harden nicely by being smart about it and he still does have potential. I don't think anyone is really adverse to keeping him on a few more years, but they should not spend any significant cash on him, otherwise, the Jazz are just bidding against themselves. I don't see a huge market for him otherwise at the moment, so a small year/cash deal give him more time to figure it out. That said, if he somehow gets over 10 per on the market, Jazz should just call it good and say "Peace out."
These stats are from NBA.com and are of qualified players only for the regular season
Exum lead our team in Assists per 100 possessions(with less TOVs than Rubio).
Exum was our 2nd leading scorer per 100 possessions just behind Mitchell.
Exum had our highest offensive rating of 109.3
Exum had the 4th highest defensive rating of 98.9 just behind Gobert who was 97.7
Exum had our highest net rating of 10.4
Exum had our 2nd highest Ast/TO rating just behind Ingles
Exum played at the fatest pace of anyone on our team
Exum had our 3rd highest player impact rating on the team just behind Gobert and Favors
Exum had our highest points per possession in pick and roll situations as the ball handler at 0.91 just ahead of Mitchell at 0.81
Exum had our best FG% and EFG% as the pick and roll ball handler
Exum turned the ball over the 3rd least as the ball handler in pick and rolls ahead of Rubio but behind Burks and Mitchell
Exum was in the 80th percentile as the ball handler in pick and rolls in the NBA ahead of anyone on the Jazz by 30%
Exum had the second highest points per possession in isolation plays just behind Rubio
Exum had the best FG% and EFG% in isolation plays for the Jazz at 50%
Exum had the best FG% on the Jazz on Drives
Exum had the 2nd highest Ast % on drives behind Ingles
Exum had the lowest TOV% on drives on the Jazz
Exum had the best DFG% on the team just ahead of Favors and Gobert
Exum had our fastest Average speed while on the court especially on offense
I think Exum showed plenty in his minutes this season to prove his upside and potential.
I'm making Exum MIP '19 my bold prediction for next season.
I think DFaves wants to be with Utah til he gets better offer and money from another team where he becomes a vital piece.
Losing both DFaves and Exum becomes troubling because Jazz send a message ...cheap salary and JUST making the playoffs is good enough to keep Jazz faithful happy "enough".
Exum is a special case as far as Utah is concerned ,if he's smart he signs a qualifying offer setting himself up for a big contract (2019)and teams bidding for him to be their starter at PG. Jazz think they have a gem in Exum and want to sign him on a "prove it" contract, so do they have to "overpay" him for next year(2 yrs)
to get him to sign a contract this summer.
My dream scenario is to get Exum PG ( 22 yrs old) to sign ,go after Mario Hezonja SF (23 yrs old ) in FA and make a trade for Marquiss Chriss PF (20 yrs old), all with tremendous athleticism and young legs ......knowing you have the best rim protector in the world behind you.
One thing I saw with Houston and Boston losing is they bombed away on 3 pters and shot themselves out of winning. You need athleticism to win and a rim protector .
Jazz core is Gobert ,Mitchell,Ingles ......secondary is Rubio and Favors ( but Favors finds another home)
This is a perfect time to sign Exum to a prominent role and add Hezonja and Chriss to the mix and there will be athletic players in all positions in front of Gobert , (25 yrs old). Shoot for the moon ,not with the highest pd players in the NBA . Ride the rim protection of Gobert and the scoring talents of Mitchell and attack with young athletic players because if you have seen the playoffs Boston and Philadelphia have athleticism to spare and filling your team with cost efficient players (Crowder,O'Neale} to your core ....you're going to get smoked and look slow . But thats the Jazz way (Snyder).
And that guy is trying to insult Snyder?! Holly *******.
Whenever I see a fanboy post on a message board about winning in NBA with some super athletic dumb loser punks just running the teams out of gyms, I know there's an idiot sitting behind a computer somewhere in the world posting that.
Nothing new coming for him. I do not know if you read previous posts but he is convinced that if Exum was coached by Popovich he would be all star by now ...
Crazy that a coach can't win without his get player that he built an identity around right?!i listened nd watched snyder struggle to get wins when Gobert was out with injury and this is continous...why the fu#k is Snyder a good coach when he's average without Gobert playing.......seems like Snyder coaches losses without Gobert playing
They did win a playoff series without him last year.

ffs just SHUT UP moronyeah but they wouldnt have if Blake Griffin didnt get hurt......luck of injury worked for the Jazz against the Clippers .But to ignore the fact Snyder is called a great coach but doesn't have a winning record without Gobert playing is a false impression. Anytime Gobert is hurt Jazz aren't a .500 team .
Spurs still won without Kawhi,Boston did without 1st Hayward ,then Kyrie ...equals GOOD coaching
Jazz had way way worse injury situation for that playoffs series. We had every starter hurt or out for that series at some point. So great point how impressive a coaching job that was. We were the underdogs and we're more injured and still won, wow.yeah but they wouldnt have if Blake Griffin didnt get hurt......luck of injury worked for the Jazz against the Clippers .But to ignore the fact Snyder is called a great coach but doesn't have a winning record without Gobert playing is a false impression. The Jazz have fantastic team chemistry. Don't you think Snyder should get a lot of the credit for that?
