Exum needs to play over Mack

Dante still playing with no confidence and very indecisive... :(

Its hard to blame him for that. Playing very inconsistent role, minutes and position is not what a player who has taken 2 out of the last 3 years off from BB needs. He is young and trying to figure it out. Exum needs to get set minutes at the back-up PG role if we want him to develop. Have him focus on good defense, setting up plays and hitting open shots. Then give him a few chances a game to do more and progress that up if he is doing well.

Let the much older more veteran player in Mack be the one to switch roles.

Like he just needs to decide when holding the ball, right I'm gonna drive and finish. He doesn't even do that. He'd rive half way, then look around and pass it out. At this level that kind of hesitation just kills you.

I agree with a lot of this but I worry about retaining our talent - namely Gordon and Hill. I think the guy on KSL (Andy Larsen up above) that writes about the Jazz suggested this is a "win now" move but I hope we can balance things better.

And by the way, THANK YOU for registering and posting! Welcome to the community!!! :)

Thank you for thanking the new poster.

Gave this post a thanks.

Yeah, I think Exum's minutes will be pretty limited the rest of the year. Looks to me like Hayward doesn't trust him enough, which is understandable right now tbh. Hopefully, when he does get minutes, Quin puts him in the right situations for him to succeed.

I think he will be ok. To put it in perspective, the Miami Heat are one of the better defensive teams.

You're so right. I think people might be discounting this team because of their losing record and perhaps the fact that Wade and Bosh are history. But this is a proud franchise with a championship coach and some good players. Whiteside might be the second best defensive center in the league this year.

A very young player being inconsistent after being put in inconsistent position doesn't make him mentally weak or a pansy or whatever else people are calling him. It is expected especially for a player that say out 2 of there last 3 years of his career. He is going to have ups and downs. That doesn't mean he has no fire, isn't playing hard or this made up idea of having it/killer instinct.

He is going to have ups and downs this year. He is going to look great at times and lost others.

Dante is struggling because he's playing not to make mistakes. On both ends

Don't disagree with this at all but this needs to be layed out at Quin Snyders feet. We're seeing Exum regress right before our eyes the last 6/7 games .I don't think it's any pressure of playing in the NBA but as Snyder loses trust in Exum ,Exum is losing trust in Snyder by his erratic handling of his play.
