Exum Update

Dante Exums best game ever is an average Mitchell game. Exum could still be an elite defender and a 3 point stud, however he's never going to be a star.

What does this even mean? They are completely different kinds of players. Comparing a good Dante and Mitchell game is a bizarre thing to try to do right now.

I’m a huge fan of Exum, but he’s scored 20+ one time in his career. I think he’ll become a more consistent scorer now that Hood is gone (and Burks will follow next year). . . but surely you can see why people feel that way. His upside is still amazing. I’m going to focus on that and hope he lives all the way up to it.

The situations are totally different though. Dante was a raw prospect that has been injured and last played NBA games coming off an ACL at the same age as Donovan (who might be on a HOF trajectory right now). I mean there are a lot of great levels of player between bad, and Donovan Mitchell's projected career right now. Dante could be 2/3ds of the player of Donovan and still end up being an All-star at some point. But yeah let's compare Dante to maybe the best rookie we've ever had lol.

I hope you'll be completely wrong. I expect Exum to eat up all of Neto and Burks' minutes. And I expect him to eat into Rubio, Ingles and Royce's minutes a little bit. Frankly the future of this team and seeing what pieces fit are more important than a 1 year playoff run. It's fun to chase the playoffs like this but I want to see how these young guys react to making that run. And I'm hoping that Exum is one of the guys helping with that.

It's just what I'm observing. If long term was the primary option, when we were 19-29 or sth and Rudy was about to come back, we'd have made up a ******** season ending injury situation for both him and Mitchell, that way we could have looked at what the rest got. Now that we're back in the playoff hunt, I expect Snyder to play the best lineups all the time unless we can afford not to.

Friendly reminder how bad Exum sucks.

Donovan has been in the league for 3 quarters of a season while Exum has been in the league for 4 years.
Donovan has already scored 400+ points MORE than Exum.

Why do all the Dante haters have to throw shade by comparing him to the star rookie?
#freeExum

And you are a troll mate. Exum has had 4 years in the league is that right? SMFH

It was just a drumstick for now, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! If we can sustain this kind of play I'll go for the breast next and even make soup out of the bones. I think tonight was a combination of superb play by the Jazz and bit of poor shooting on Indy's part. I simply can't say enough about Goberts presence, he is unbelievable at this point! Please, please don't let him get hurt.

Great post my friend

I'm just feeling pessimistic. Like a kid who believes Christmas really is being cancelled this year
This is strange considering that the jazz are playing better basketball right now than they have in like 20 years.
Jazz fans should be happy right now. Maybe you are not a jazz fan but instead just a fan of a certain player?

I’m a huge Burks fan and he isn’t even sniffing the court and I couldn’t be happier about the jazz right now.

Jazz really are in great shape. Everyone else’s schedules are either tough or very tough (“I’d say strong to very strong”—movie????) and we have the easiest schedule in the NBA. We’ll definitely make the playoffs imo. It’s just a question of how highly seeded we are.

Last year, for the one Clips game, I went to my neighbor’s four houses down who is also a Jazz fan (seriously, what are the odds in NJ?) and got hammered off of beer and tequila shots. Came back home at midnight quoting movies loud as **** as the kids slept, my wife telling me to stfu, and then I proceeded to puke like crazy.

This reads as if you have always suspected this.

Context matters Fish. I was talking about my pessimism over the Exum reintegration.

Spare me the I am not a real fan blah blah. Back off.

You mean the 22 point anomally with 1 assist and 2 turnovers? Shelvin Mack put up far superior games and fans typically hated him.

Exam sucks. Time to not CJ Miles another draft pick.

btw Joe just out of curiosity what chance do you actually give the Jazz of being the 5th seed ??? I give it about 2 % aka zero
I'd say if the Jazz go 15-2 the rest of the way (maybe 14-3) they will get the fifth seed. Maybe a 5% chance of that, maybe even a little bit higher because our schedule is really favorable and if Gobert continues to play like this some opponents are just going to give up, but I'm a fan and having unreasonable expectations is part of the fun for me.

Will do. I was quoting Vanilla Sky which I absolutely love (it's almost a masterpiece minus too much heavyhanded rock n roll crap from Crowe [like I get it buddy, you wrote for Rolling Stone] in one or two scenes, and a couple minor moments where Cruise is nothing special--but overall, it is one of his top 5 acting jobs imo) and which I must say, I can crush so far as quoting lol.

What if we go 13-4? Do you guys think we could snatch up the 4 seed if we go 13-4?
