Exum will sign qualifying offer and subsequently leave

Why would the Jazz overpay Exum with a QO? To try one more season to trade him? (thanks for not responding as I don't need one)

You can almost see the "Les" on the back of his jersey.

In part because of the leash that Quin has given a #13 draft pick versus their #5 pick.

Watching DM throw up a thousand shots a game and get stuffed repeatedly at the rim and jack up 3s is great for the kid. It is teaching him to be aggressive, but not much else. It certainly is teaching him to be inefficient.....

The second reason is the FO inability to run with Exum as their guy. The signing of Hill and now friggin Rubio.

Exum has been a PINO (PG in name only). He was not allowed to run the offense nor have plays drawn up for him to initiate.

This season has sent a message to Exum. We didn't and don't believe in you like we do Mitchell (or even Rubio).

Exum will sign the QO.

I don't buy most of this scenario but it does make me wish I had the same crystal ball. Maybe I just need to stay at a Holiday Inn Express?

Dude, different circumstances. He'll get plenty of run when he gets back Relax !

He won't take the QO... it is low... like 4.5M because he doesn't qualify for the higher 7.5M offer. I think he'll get a 2/20 or 3/30 with the last year of either deal being a mutual option... both a player and team option. He would be walking away from significant money by taking the QO and if he gets hurt again he may not even get the minimum. He isn't in a position to take on risk.

The whole tone of this thread is garbage... I bet Exum is happy DM is getting a chance and understands that we don't have Hayward, Hill, or even Joe Johnson right now so shot creation is tough to find. My guess is those two actually like each other and would like to play together.

You must think Exum is a saint.
I would be pissed if I watched a less talented rookie chuck up his guts every night without consequences.

Mitchell is making me forget about Exum.

The guy is horrendously inefficient.
If he can't draw fouls, he is going to have to live and die by his jumper.

Exum could get to the line 10 times a night. It's going to happen. Unfortunately, it's going to happen with the Clippers.

If Exum had been a 2nd round pick, this place would be full of threads asking why he is still on the team.

In Jazz career win shares he is currently one spot ahead of Mark Jackson and one behind Boris Diaw. Sefolosha has already passed him in 17 games!

Dude.
Do you recall Locke stating that Quin drew up his first plays for Exum in the preseason?? This preseason.

Don't give me this win share BS.

So is his other injuries. They do exist, they did happen. Fluke or not, they keep happening to him. That's my point. The guy cannot stay healthy long enough to be on the court and an effective piece of the puzzle.

Is it unfortunate? Yes. Is it the current reality? Also yes.
He's had 2 injuries, so like he said the one before that didn't happen.

Lol @ OP suggesting there would be jealousy for how Exum was handled as a rookie v how Mitchell was.

First of all, Exum and Mitchell played well together over SL. If anything, Mitchell drawing more attention from opposing D's will help Exum more than hurt him.

Second, assuming that Exum will sign elsewhere over jealousy about a perceived difference in how DM has been treated as a rookie is completely delusional. He will do what is best for his career at that point, end of story. He isn't going to hold some grudge from years before and let that dictate his future. Only an unreasonable, illogical person would do that (possibly the OP?).

That DM is inefficient or that Exum could get to the line 10 times per?

The Jazz have completely effed up Exum's development. The guy is gone.
Injuries have screwed up his development. This was the year he should have gotten a lot of minutes to prove what he was, he's injured so now Donovan is playing most of those minutes.

Like he who shall not be named? Supposedly that was a big part of the reason he wanted out. Don't act like it doesn't happen, because it can be a factor in those decisions.
