In case you haven't seen it...

I thought he was a rare bright spot in last night's game.

Exum doesn't seem overwhelmed at all. It looks like he has no problem with the speed of the game.

Also, that pass to Gobert reminds me of the dozen or so ally-oop points Dwight Howard scored against the Spurs (the benched version) - would love to see that look to Gobert happen more often.

Good to see Exum's future on this team is a "when" instead of an "if"

Well said.
After the draft I think we all may have had a little of the "hope he's not a bust" fear in our minds. I believe we're past that point now. Dante is going to be a good PG in the league: that's his new floor. Will he be great? We hope. But I'm pretty sure he's at least a starter in the near future...and that future may be coming soon.

I like how at 2:09 he saw the post defender clearing the middle (following Gobert), he saw that he was 1-on-1 with Villanueva and he knew he was quick enough to get around him for the layup and just went for it with the scoop shot.

We all know he's got good vision & passing, but it's good to see him attacking the paint when it's there as well.

he hasnt taken any mid range shots at all.

he seems to really do well from the 3point line all of a sudden though...

Quin isn't encouraging the team to take mid range shots. Locke said Quin had really stressed the importance of either easy points in the paint, or step out to take the 3 pointer.

Exum seems to be sticking to Quin's teaching... unlike Trey & Burks who seems to averaging at least 1-2 "foot on the line" shot per game.

That imo is because the post defender was worried about the lob, Gobert is an offensive threat when Exum is on the floor. He really does need to be utilized more by the rest of the team, it will open up a tonne of space if they do.

I think the difference between Exum being a good or great pg is weather he improves his ball handling. I think this is why he's not as aggressive in attacking the rim, then add in the fact that he's 19, and playing men for the first time.

I do see a lot of Devin Harris in him, similar bodies, extremely fast. I just hope Exum can be a lot more durable in his career. If so he'll be better for a higher % of his career.

Now that we've seen how his game looks vs NBA competition, Ive gotta ask;

on a scale of 1-10

what would you rate his awareness?

definitely in the 9-10 range. That's his most impressive attribute, IMO. He's Rondo-esq in this facet of his game.... just gets it.

And with the exception of the game winner against Cleveland, so is Hayward. Very interesting stat is that Gordon is averaging about the same number of points, shooting 5% higher overall, but 5% lower on his 3's through 6 games vs. last season. He has also taken 75 shots through 6 games as opposed to 97 last year. Essentially the same scoring averaging (18.0 vs. 18.3) on 22 fewer shots! Free throw attempts are the same, although he's made 7 more this year, so that accounts for 1 pt/per game on his average. So same output, but efficeiency is WAY up. Assists, rebounds, steals, blocks are also pretty similar to last season as are minutes/per.

In offense, yes... very high. In defense he needs more work - he seems to get surprised by screens relatively frequently. That's part of the reason why he's having problem with those screens - doesn't recognize them coming soon enough, doesn't have the perfect technique for fighting through them and he's lacking the strength to do it effectively. This to me is one of his main defensive problems right now.
