So just offer to send out your team then.

I, unlike Jerry Sloan, firmly believe in using things like this as extra motivation. This is getting clipped and posted on the board in the locker room. You best watch out if you hold on to beat SiroMar.

Wow. Just checked in, and see that I'm getting blown out. I'm not attached to this really, but I think the board must be a) underestimating Wilt Chamberlain who dominated against players like Bill Russel and Kareem, b) underestimating KG out on the floor - he was one of the most dominant players ever and could do anything, c) underestimating how virtually impossible Amare was to guard during his prime, d) underestimating the degree to which KJ would get destroyed by Penny at both ends, and e) underestimating how great a scorer Dominique was vs. Drexler. I'm just not seeing how Whiskey's team can stop my guys, but props to Whiskey for the win.

Oh, and no GM would take a player like Ibaka, Bruce Bowen, etc. over Anthony Davis, even as a rookie, in any draft.

I'm surprised by the disparity (and I will be even more surprised if disparity doesn't change)... I really like Catchall's length. Although I must admit that I was surprised that he moved KG to the 3. It weakens his 4 spot... Amare's defense was always suspect (and I think a lot of people forgot how great he was for a few years. Also, Anthony Davis is a gigantic question mark).

Edit: I think KG is another one of those players that have been in the league so long that you forget how amazing he was in his prime. (Putting him at the three, however, takes him away from the basket too far for my personal taste.)

Just because Garnett is matched up against a smaller forward, doesn't mean he can't play in the post. It just means he can win his match up against the smaller forward. Garnett is a guy who can score on anyone from all over the floor.

So... Is A'mare going to step out of the post and stretch the D or is Wilt? If you are going to play three guys in the post your offense is going to be seriously congested.

Garnett is extremely versatile, but he needs room to operate.

Actually, I don't need to stretch the floor when Garnett is going up against Dirk or Worthy. Amare can move out to 18-20 feet and Dominique is also out 20+ feet, but KG would make his man guard him everywhere. One of the Bull's best line-ups in the day was Harper/Jordan/Pippen/Rodman/Longley. None of these guys worried about stretching the floor, they just had a mismatch at 2 or 3 positions and alternated between mismatches. If one guy drew a double, the next guy would cut. There was no need to pass the ball out to the 3-pt line. Anyone could get a shot within 18 feet.

FWIW, James Worthy also played PF for most of his career. I honestly think if these two line-ups played one another, my team would score more points, get more boards, and win. I think people are generally not familiar with the guys I picked.

I think maybe I've asked this question before, but how many people on this board have actually played the game of basketball at a competitive level?

*In my best Bill Clinton voice*

It depends on your definition of "competitive" .. and "basketball."

Like......high school, jr. varsity.

Or *heck* remember your church league. If there was a lengthy offensive juggernaut of a player scoring at will from like 5 spots on the floor, does anyone really care about the guy standing out at the 3-pt. line hoping he gets to shoot ?

I have coached a college team (Mt. Angel Seminary) against NCCAA squads and JV NCAA Division III squads. We weren't that good, but I implemented a basic offense, read and react, and a few different defensive schemes. I've been the only "coach" to get us a couple of wins. Is my opinion good enough?

If Garnett would have been such a massive mismatch at the Small Forward position, I'm pretty sure it would have been exploited more in his NBA career by NBA level coaches.

None of your players are as offensively capable in the high post as Dirk Nowitzki and none of your players are as creative/good in the low post as Hakeem. Also, Drexler and Dominique are extremely similar basketball players. I would argue Drexler is a better shooter and better distributor than Domique, although Dominique probably finishes around the rim slightly better. Also, James Worthy and Hakeem were devastating in the short baseline.

My point is, I would rather take the combination of Dirk/Worthy/Hakeem then KG/Amare/Wilt because I think they present better scoring opportunities from different players from all-around: the elbows, short baseline, and low block. Whereas, your team seems more reliant on KG consistently initiating the offense or Wilt getting the ball deep on the low block.

I am envious of Anfernee Hardaway, however, I absolutely loved him.

When PKM and Hack get a first round bye, then you know this is a conspiracy.

But seriously, how does this stuff work?

You guys remind me of the table of Magic the Gathering card players that used to chill at lunch during high school. Lol

Whatever this is, it's over my head.
