What's new

Favors 3yr/27M

Re-posting:
I always feel like I say this whenever there's a signing, yes I would've preferred 1-2mil less per year but that's really not much difference

Would be nice if Fav's did the Jazz a solid and took 8mil per since he go paid a bit more his last 2yrs thanks to the Jazz but I am H A P P Y he's back home.

Conley
Mitchell-Clarkson
Bogdanovic-Ingles
O'Neale
Gobert-Favors

That’s a hella 8. Brantley and Morgan have shown something too at the 4/5. We have Udoka at the 5. But I also think we can feel a little better with a Favors/Gobert lineup here and there with far better shooting on the team now than before and not having that third non-shooter of Rubio in the lineup.

Would love to use the BAE (I think we have it) on one more legitimate NBA player to solidify our bench.

Oh and yeah my post earlier when it first came out at 3yr 30 saying I'd like it 1-2mil less, and behold it is. The next reports by Woj (instead of Shams) say 3yr 27mil with last year as player option.

So yeah 9mil per year...

I'm actually really excited about this. If we had kept Favors last year we couldn't have signed Bogey but now we have them both! We now have 48 minutes of rim protection once again and one of the best pick and roll combos in the league in Ingles/Favors. Also, our biggest weakness last year, our bench, is going to be so much better this year.

The Jazz FO has been repeatedly saying that they think the biggest issue we had this year was defense. Last year we had an elite defense. This year when Rudy was on the floor we were very good and we were way below average when he was on the bench. The offense is fine with last years additions of Bogey, JC, and MC. This should not surprise anyone who has been listening to the FO narrative. This is a team committed to the notion of rim protection as the basis of their defense. And you now have a young developing C who can be the number 1 or number 2 guy depending upon what happens with Rudy and Favs.
