Maybe there’s a 20/20 pun in there, but whatevs. I think we’re two rotation pieces away from really being up there. We’ve got a good top 7:

Conley
Mitchell
Ingles
Bojan
Gobert

Clarkson
O’Neale

We need 1) a rebounder and 2) an energy guy. If we can make those moves on the fringes this year, then that’s great. But to hell with the luxury tax (not even sure where we’re at with that next year with regard to re-signing variables). Top 5 are under contract. Royce is a RFA and we have Clarkson’s bird rights.

We will have the full MLE. We will not have the BAE since we used it on Davis this summer. Not sure what the market will be for both Favors and Crowder. Would be nice to land both of those guys by splitting the exception (~$9-10M?). Crowder may not have a big market. If you give a long contract to Favors, I wonder how low you could go in the first year to get him to bite.

Conley / Mitchell / Clarkson
Mitchell / Clarkson
Ingles / O’Neale
Bojan / Crowder / Favors
Gobert / Favors

Maybe you could do a sign-and-trade with Memphis where we give them a second rounder, Davis, and Bradley for Crowder.

I don't think splitting the MLE is going to get both. I'd offer the MLE to Favors. We need him back. Crowder is just "meh" as a player. He shoots a low percentage.

I don't think the OP is suggesting trading for Favors. It's about using the MLE this summer.

Favors and Crowder would be perfect bench pieces. Damn.

Realistically, the Jazz are going to have to start getting contributions from one of their diamonds-in-the-rough both because the money might not exist and that the Jazz don't control the fates of Favors or Crowder.

Just get them to write Player’s Tribune articles about “unfinished business.”

I miss Favors. I’d be all for bringing him back if he’s open to it. Full MLE should definitely be on the table next year.

Crowder is a little tougher. He’s a great guy, and I’m glad he got a run with the Jazz. . . but his shooting was an issue. It would depend on the cost.

See if Bradley plays again over Ed against Pistons tomorrow ..

Ed has given us zip ... at least Bradley is a bigger body and can finish around the rim ...

Not sure what Ed could fetch us ...

Yesterday Clipps got a lot of offensive rebounds, it was only hidden by excellent shooting , when shots aren’t going in we need to rebound ...

Favours , Baynes , ... I dunno who else is out there that’s a realistic option

2020 summer sign and trade for Favors centering around Ed Davis. Also we need the MLE for Royce.
1. We have Royce’s bird rights.
2. Why would NOP want a sign and trade “center[ed] around Ed Davis”?

I would absolutely love to have Favors back as long as he's ok with coming off the bench and strictly playing backup center minutes. He would easily be the best backup center in the league and would help our bench immensely. If we have to offer him a starting role to get him to come back then I'd rather sign a different backup center. He's not a power forward and having him and Rudy on the floor together just doesn't work offensively.

As for Crowder, I'm not sure I'd want him back. I loved the toughness and hustle he provided and it was great having an enforcer on the team. But he's just such an inefficient scorer and shoots such low percentages. I don't miss him chucking 3 after 3 and bricking most of them. I believe we're currently the second best 3 point shooting team in the league, we can expect that to drop significantly if we bring Crowder back and give him steady minutes. I also don't miss his straight line drives to the basket where he would usually fall down and miss the layup. I don't know, I think maybe his flaws outweigh his strengths.
