What's new

Game Thread Feb 22, 2025 07:30PM MT: Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz

I liked it that when Keyonte fell on offense and was happily watching the continuation of the play while sitting Collier just grabbed him by the hand and dragged him back on his feet. "Get back in the game!"

key, is incredibly skilled. the question with him will always be whether the ball goes in the hoop often enough. can he be efficient? but he can create his own and for his teammates as well as any young guard.
This is why I believe. All the tools. Shot falls and he is efficient and he is bonafide.

Call me pollyana but I can see a path where the Jazz don't suck next season. A lot depends on where Ainge wants to go.
For sure. Sexton and Collins are both having pretty great years and didn't play. Kessler is a stud. Lauri will get better.
The rookies and key have shown out plenty. If we don't make trades to get worse next year then we give the pick to OKC

Key's offense is coming along nicely. early in the year the game plan was to get physical with Key. he would fall apart. lately he seems more locked in. he is playing within the system, taking the hits and still scoring. his defense is still super bad. he almost seems afraid to offend the guy he is guarding by fouling him. he needs get more dog in him. on defense. at least make it look like you hate it when the other guy scores.

Beating the Rockets with mostly our young guys when the national media keeps talking about how great the Rockets young guys are is kind of satisfying.

However for the tanks sake this is a pretty bad win especially with our upcoming schedule.

Posters who can only look at the negatives of a 21 year old on their favorite team who has shown super flashes must be miserable people.

For those who follow me enough know that Keyonte George isn't the type of player I like. That said, he has shown in flashes that he can do some really great things on the court and so it's easy for me, as a Jazz fan, to look for the positives and hope for progress.

This was a weird, weird game. Williams played well, Martin shows up and balls, Keyonte shows up and shoots a better percentage from three than he does the charity stripe, and Jeff Green shows us his game ages like wine (his game is so much more efficient than when he was in his 20s).

I'm not gonna lie. Despite being full on team tank, I was having a lot of fun watching that game and was actually kind of rooting for the win.
This season if the jazz and BYU are playing at the same time I have typically watched the BYU game. Last night BYU was playing a close game with a ranked team on the road (Cougars won by 1 point) and I chose to watch the entire jazz game and miss the BYU game.

Good game for the young guys and even though it cost us a win, it was nice to see Lauri bounce back and have a good second half.

HOU is not very good without FVV who is in my opinion the most underrated player in the league.
