Fes 3-16 FT? Seriously?

I take my 7 year old to gym and he consistantly hits 5/10 FT. How can a professional player be so bad? Im not a Fes hater or anything I just don't get how you can suck so bad at something that isn't that hard.

Fatigue, lack of practice, lack of routine attempts to get adjusted.. plus a lot of guys just aren't that good at putting the ball in the hoop.

Fatigue - the guy plays 2 mins a game. Lack of Routine - He is a professional basketball player go to the gym and get your shots its not like you have another job. That leaves us with with Some guys just cant put the ball in the hoop.

The same way Chris Dudley, Dale Davis, Olden Polynice were routinely such poor FT shooters. Doesn't matter how much you practice, some guys just have trouble with the mental approach to FT shooting.

Fes shot 56% in the preseason (with a relatively large sample size 14/25), so my guess is in the regular season he's feeling more pressure and resorting to bad habits and form when he's at the line.

Unless you play Fesenko 20 mins every game he is not going to shoot better from the FT line. Coaching 101

FTs are all mental. And so is Fesenko.

Seriously tho, his technique doesn't seem all that bad. That leaves the thinking part. It does make him a liability in yet another faction of the game tho. Heck, if I were the opposing coach, I'd say foul him whenever he touched the ball if we were aleady in the penalty. It's probably another reason he doesn't play more.

See I think there is one big flaw in your theory. Big Fes is not a professional basketball player, he's a big 7+ foot, 300lb guy that only recently has started to marginally take his job seriously. While I agree that he is vastly improved this season compared to the past, this is where I would've expected him as a very raw rookie. So, the 3-16 FT % doesn't really surprise me at all.

Yeah, it's pretty sad that a guy who has been in the league for 4 years and in our system for that long is just now getting to rookie status. It says a lot about his own personal work ethic and personal development. Makes me wonder how long it would take him to understand that right now is make or break time for him. If he wants more PT, it really is make break time for him to either get it, or **** or get off the pot. My
Position is that he isn't mentally capable of getting off the pot. We shall see.

I think FT shooting has gotten into his head. Fes form isn't that bad but he is thinking about missing them. Perhaps the fact he doesn't play so much has a little to do with his inability to make FTs. You can't have a guy in the game if he is just going to miss FTs especially in the fourth quarter. If Fes coulld make 50-65 percent of his free throws he would get more minutes.

So what you guys are saying is that Fes has the mental capacity of a 7 year old. Ok I can get on board with that.

Sloan is so damn stoopid, eh? Coachin 101, right here: Give Fess a cigarette for every free throw he makes. He'll shoot over 90%, I tellya!
