Final Roster Spot / MLE

With Raja all but gone I'm assuming the Jazz go after a 2-guard. Who would we want considering we use all or part of the MLE?

Who would you prefer?

Brandon Rush
Shannon Brown
Jerryd Bayless
Marco Belinelli
Rudy Fernandez
OJ Mayo
Michael Redd
Carlos Delfino
Gerald Green
Cortney Lee
Sam Young

Jerryd Bayless looks good but we don't need another 6'3'' point guard. I would have to say Cortney Lee. Solid shooter from the three and the FT line. Is still young, only 4 years. I think he would compliment Tinsley well coming off the bench.

If jazz are going to trade Al or Milsap to make Favours happy then they better get a back-up big, 'cause Kanter ain't gonna cut it. Since OKC got Thabeet the Jazz will have to go after Kwami Brown or Darko Milicic, either should fit right in.

Why would you assume they want a 2 guard? They have Hayward, Burks and Mo Williams that can all play there. Also Murphy as the deep bench guy. If they spend the MLE at all. I would think it's a SF or a PG.

I think they will invite guys to camp and just fill the roster with somebody from there. Unless there is another trade coming.

the jazz are already pretty much two deep everywhere but PG. they have four quality bigs at two spots. they have at least four quality wings at two spots (not that i wouldn't take an upgrade over carroll, but we at least know that he's worthy of beign the 4th wing behind hay, marvin and burks). that leaves PG where we don't have a real playmaker and where our backups are fairly limited vets. so if it were my money to spend, i'd be looking for a playmaking backup PG.

Get this guy out of retirement:

He'd be a much better coach than Corbin. Who's that tall white guy next to him? Dude has to be eight feet tall.

I'm impressed by Mejri on the defensive end, but he is 26 and very thin. He really is quick though for a big guy.
A king-sized Jeremy Evans. Would not be surprised if he ended on an NBA roster, if not ours. Ya can't teach height, and the guy even comes out of the paint to block shots. Very agile and quick. He could be a real asset in spot duty.

Redd looked like he played on one leg last year.

I wouldn't go there.

Can you imagine the burn he would get ahead of our youth?

Hell ****ing no. I will be livid if we sign Redd. Rush or bust.

I'd agree with Rush but G.S. just traded D. Wright so there have alittle extra spending room on Rush. I'm still a little mad Utah passed on D. Wright. he would have sretched the Defense and unclog the middle on offense for the bigs to go to work.

What do you guys think of taking a chance on Greg Oden??? A two year deal with a team option after the first year...I know, I know, he's always hurt. But he has monster upside, is a major defensive presence and if we're looking to move Jefferson, I wouldn't mind him becoming our 4th big. Imagine a healthy Oden/Favors combo.

Note: He has just been cleared to work out...Seven teams have supposedly been keeping a close eye on him.

I would agree that we are pretty full up in respect of the PF/C position with al, favors, milsapp, kanter and evans.

And we are pretty full up at PG as well with williams, tinsley and watson - obviously this is not as talented as our PF/C position. It would be nice to probably upgrade/replace watson with a better talent - but what is out there? Patty Mills (i am biased as an australian) - but he showed, alebit with the spurs, that he could shoot very well, incl treys, and was energetic and could run their offence. JOhn Lucas from the bulls is another who played well in rose's absence. Obviously these guys would be on a wage well below the MLE.

In respect of SG/SF - we currently have williams, hayward and carroll at SF, and burks and hayward at SG - maybe you would say we could add another SG - I personally like shannon brown - is a bit underszied, but super athletic, can shoot, and brings a good intensity. In the end tho, I suppose we all hope that burks, hayward and williams will deserve to dominate the minutes at the SG/SF position, and therefore, any new person will merely be a back up.
