Fire Jeff Hornacek, Because Hayward Can't shoot worth a lick!

Funny as it sounds, I think Hayward still does not feel he is one of the main guys...he needs to get over it quick.

I like all aspects of his game, 2-pt, transition, Defense, Smarts but his 3-pt shot is bricklayer.

He airballed a wide open 3 last nite as well. Maybe he was hungover from all-start weekend, who knows, but shoots typically do not airball a wide open 3.

If I was defending Hayward, I would pack it in and challenge him to take a wide open 3 in front of me. That would really get in his head then.

The only good thing, he usually doesn't start chucking 3's.

Last nite's would have been a HUGE make.

I guess I will have to settle for at least he took the shot (unlike Lebron :) )

I doubt team will start to do that. The last thing you want to give a shooter is open shots to get their confidence going, because if he makes one, that could lead to him making 3 on you.

That statement is so funny.

What defines a shooter? The guy who jacks them up from three?

Well if thats the case then why does CJ get that same statement? Or why didnt Ak get that? They play basically the same position. And right now I would trust either one of those guys to shoot the three over Hayward. Funny thing is that AK actually would come through in Big moments from the three, but he was never labled a shooter.

How about you have to earn it to be called a shooter. Hayward is not a shooter at this point. And he does have to be selective with his shots. If you arent making them that much then you need to practice more. Not just keep jacking them up because sooner or later one is going to fall

His freshman and rookie years of College and with the Jazz have proven he is a shooter.

Shooters have to keep shooting.

I do find it funny Hayward has now missed two opportunities in a row to either tie or win games (not outright, but go-ahead) on the FT in Minnesota and the 3 pointer last night. With Hayward's seemingly frail confidence, that has to be weighing on him.

He has also made big time shots/plays in the closing minutes of games, so I don't think this will be a problem. Clutch players always miss more than they score. I have faith in Hayward being quite a clutch player, for some unexplainable reason. The fact that he can create in so many ways (other than scoring jumpshots) will make him a lot more versatile in crunch time situations, throughout his career

The lack of three point shooting on this team is killing them just as it has for years. But if the blame is going to be placed on Hornacek someone had at least start by showing a trend of players improving their 3pt % after they leave the jazz did Brewer, Mathews, Korver, DWill, Maynor improve after they left the jazz?

Or how about players joining the jazz and 3pt% going down- Harris, Howard, Korver?

What the hell is wrong with Hayward's shot? I thought Hornacek was supposed to be helping our team with shooting.

To me, watching Hayward's shot, I think he has bad form. It's too much of a push shot and not a catapult shot. Some people learn how to shoot the push shot effectively but some don't. If you want to learn how to shoot then you should model your shot after Kobe or Deron. Plus it doesn't look like he ever lines up the laces. In slow motion you can see he has weird rotation on the ball. He has got to learn how to rotate that ball quickly and line up the laces by feel. He'll probably get it sooner or later. But for now, it sucks watching him shoot. I thought we were getting a shooter. It's actually all the other aspects of his game that I like the best.

His shot looks fine so obviously you don't know dick about shooting. It isn't going in from 3 but he has good form. He'll eventually get it together, there is no way he is going to continue to shoot 14% from 3 like has been doing lately. He may not ever be a great 3 point shooter but he will be functional eventually.

I don't post here that often. But I'm sick of people not giving Hayward credit he deserves. He's actually having a good sophmore season, shooting 9.4ppg on 42% 3 assists, 3 rebounds, both big increases. FT% improved nearly 10%.

His three point shot is off, but this is honestly decent improvement for a 21 year old and an indicator that he'll be at least a 15ppg scorer in upcoming seasons. When the raindrops fall on the old man, however, he doesn't fall. He just keeps going, stepping over puddles, stepping in puddles, whatever it takes to bring home his favorite toothpaste. I just never see Hayward getting the "Hayward has improved" posts on this board.

3 boards from a SF with good size and great length is bad. He has the ability to board but for whatever reason he just doesn't crash boards hard

Hayward has average length for his size, maybe even below average (his wingspan is only an inch longer than his height, most NBA'ers to seem to be 3 inches over at least).

Thats usually a white thing. Black guys have huge wings. Thats a big reason why they are better dunkers. Its kind of hard with t-rex arms

Im 6'0 with a 6'1 wing spand and im... You guessed it.. a cracka *** cracka

I didn't realize that but his athleticism is good for a SF. The point is he should be getting more rebounds
