But if you think he was just as sincere then just remember that last time I checked, he didn't even call Dennis Lindsey or Gale Miller. He leaked the news to his new best buddy IT, but didn't manage to call his 'family'. Actions speak louder than lousy break up artilces. Hayward was about as sincere as this:

Franklin, you are AMAZING! No REALLY. You are!!! You are my FAVORITE poster here. Fantastic. Fish and I are going to go get a pizza and talk about your sister behind your back now so... um... Peace owwwwat.
 
Gotta hand it to Franklin, just when you think the s#*t show series has come to an end, he fires up another episode. Gotta let it go folks.

Franklin... Haywood can blog all he wants. But the fact is, he never called Dennis or Gail about his decision. A few weeks ago Dennis said on local radio that he still hasn't heard from Gordon. You are a pubic relations professional's dream. You believe everything you hear.

Haywood screwed the Jazz in how he handled it and wasn't man enough to make a phone call in the aftermath.

He didn't want to be a part of what Gail Miller, Dennis Lindsey, and Quin Snyder are building here.

I'm trying really hard not to care about a Celtics player. I almost don't and then some **** like this pops up on the board.
 
I look at the Celtics' roster, and I don't think they win 50 games this year. Without Bradley at the 2 and Crowder at the 4, their defense likely takes a step back. Their frontcourt with Horford and Marcus Morris looks like one of the worst rebounding and interior defensive duos in the league. Their bench rotation with Rozier/Smart/Tatum/Baynes and Ojeleye/Yabusele isn't going to score much. Kyrie is going to have to play his butt off to match what IT did for them last year, and one of Hayward/Kyrie is going to have to be on the floor at all times to make the offense work.

They're positioned well to recruit another FA if they can unload Horford at some point, but they might actually take a step back next year.

Hayward is going to be on national television a lot in Boston. Just being on local television in Boston is going to make him a folk hero. He's going to make the All Star game every year for a while, and might even start a few AS games. Then he's going to practically get a bye to the second round of the Playoffs in the Eastern Conference, playing against teams like Miami, Charlotte or Philadelphia in the first round.

That's why he left. It makes sense for him personally.

In Utah, Hayward wouldn't get nearly the same national attention. He might not make the AS game now with Butler and George in the Conference and Rudy likely to represent the Jazz going forward. The Jazz have a tougher road to winning 50+ games. Plus, a first-round match-up in a 4/5-seed or 3/6-seed scenario is going to be a difficult series just to make the second round, to be followed by a matchup against either the Warriors or a really good 55+ win team.

Add all this up, and it's obvious why Hayward left, let alone the fact that Coach Stevens is going to put him in situations to succeed individually.

There's a few particular situations Coach Stevens wants to get him in ..

And folk hero ... please when the going gets tough who do you think the Boston media is going to turn the screws on ? And when they realize that both him and the team they put together isn't anywhere near good enough to even mildly bother the Cavs ??? He's gonna be a shoe in for his precious all star games for 4-5 year but he ain't going close to becoming a folk hero in Boston
 
I have agonized over this decision, toughest decision of my life, it tears me apart to say this... but I have decided it is best for my family and I to not talk about Hayward anymore.
I hate to disappoint posters on jazzfanz, friends, and ijazz, but know I have nothing but love for these threads.

I hope you realize that while I was posting about Hayward, I gave it everything. Blood, sweat, tears, and every ounce of energy I have. I wish these threads nothing but great success going forward.

He worked hard. He gave everything he had, and was generally a decent member of the community (a little bit of a loner but whatever). He lied about the decision thing and really can never own it at this point. That will always be a problem for me in respecting him, but I don't really believe in booing players (he's gonna get boo'd mercilessly) and I wish him health if not success. From a strictly basketball perspective it will be interesting to see what happens with him this year in a new situation. I do appreciate the attempt to at least say something a little bit more heartfelt (ghostwritten or not) instead of the awkward PT piece.

I need to revise what I wrote. I have been on Jazzfanz since the first year it began. I think it was 2003. And I have to say that Franklin is without a doubt the biggest but-hole in the history of the site -- I'll bet that makes him proud, too. It's a mark of distinction.
 
Franklin is legit one of the smartest people here. You can like him or hate him, agree with him or not, but he is not stupid.
