You have a comp for him? I'm not sure how to view his potential anymore. He has the tools to be a great two way player, but dude was a ***** for UK.Skal's game is fueled by arrogance, which isn't the worst thing though, once he gets rolling he's gonna be tough to stop.. even during crunchtime.. Which is why I like the fit here in Utah tbh, he could exist in a vacuum scoring the ball 3-10 ft from the basket, and then ya hope the rest of his game falls in line...
NBAdarft comparing him to Channing Frye is terrible.
No interest in Korkmaz. Not athletic. 57% from the line. 39% from the field. Really? This is what we want? He shot 42% from three. So what? It was only on 1.4 attempts per game. Hell, the 8.8 minutes per game is so small, it's tough to guage him. I'd avoid him.
I saw Bosh like potential before the season started--do you still see him reaching that level? Does he have the drive? Dr. Jones repeatedly said he's as soft as can be.He's somewhere on the Lamarcus Aldridge-Chris Bosh spectrum.. He's more agile than either of them too..
His measurements will be key though.. Gotta wait on them.. Dr Jones said many months ago he's on a trajectory for 240lbs which could change things..
I just don;t think people here are giving him the proper benefit of the doubt, reminds me of Zach LaVine.. You'd almost think he's projected to have the same pitfalls as Kanter or something.
That UK team needed Skal to play like the biggest, most talented player on the floor. In Utah he'll never have that role, they just need him to shoot, play defense and rebound..
So who would you pick for the Jazz? I realize things could change in the upcoming months, but is there a clear favorite of yours right now?years ago, when he was ranked outside of the top-10, and PKM was posting he's going to Memphis. I used to post here that I thought he was a 'Rich mans John Henson', I still think that's a pretty good comp and Henson might be his 'worst-case' type projection, which is still good enough to be a big $$ bench player..
I ask; How soft would he look standing next to Rudy Gobert or Derrick Favors ???? Has he spoken on that??
I suspect this is a damn good landing spot for him.. He'll probably work harder at his game with talented players in front of him, that he's trying to take minutes from.

Murray's handle and ability to change pace is much better than Buddy's.And wrong Buddy is the closest thing to Steph in this draft. Not murray.
Jamal Murray would be the ideal trade up target, no one in this draft could add real firepower to the offense next season quite like Murray..
He's a CJ McCollum/Gilbert Arenas style combo guard, who's also been compared to Brandon Roy, and would fit seamlessly next to Exum at SG and Hood/Burks at PG. He's dangerous with and without the ball. Quick release shooter.
Shot a blistering 41% from 3 on 7.7 attempts as a Freshman, and closed out the season with #'s even stronger then that.

He's also the closest player you'll find to Steph Curry in this draft..

Also a jackpot scenario could be Henry Ellenson falling to the pick. He's not a perfect match because he's just about exactly Trey Lyles size, maybe a half an inch taller. He's a better rebounder and shotblocker for sure and he's more used to playing 5, he'd be a seamless fit at PF next to Favors, Gobert or Withey too.

I believe he's got some Kevin Love to his game, his handle/faceup game is really something for a player his size too. He and Lyles with Burks off the bench could really attack the basket from the perimeter aggressively
Davis is interesting but I like Skal better, I'm waiting for measurements and workouts though to really decide. I haven't ruled Stephen Zimmerman out yet either.
