Following 2016 potential draftees

Dr. Joe, would you take Skal at 12 if you're Utah?

Yikes. I would sure hope he's gone before that if I'm in that position of picking.

He is tremendously skilled on the offensive side of the floor. He was making lots of progress very late in the season on the defensive end. He will be good at both... BUT he has to get A LOT stronger or he won't see 5 minutes per game.

I don't trust his work ethic or love for the game. His upside is awesome, but...

In short.. I don't know, but probably not.

Would you take Thon over him, then?

No, these players exist on a finite timeline, you want to deny their existence until its of some importance to you or 'your team', so be it.. I see that as being lazy(it's common American behavior if I do say so myself).. If there's one thing I know about lazy people, they like to surround themselves with other lazy enabling type of people, so they don't feel guilty(same thing with fat people).

I see your plea for me to stop posting about recruiting as a plea for laziness or a plea to maintain the status quo.

"why can;t you just start guessing with us about these prospects months before the draft, instead of actually keeping an ear to the ground as long as possible"

Is a how i perceive lots of the noise thrown my way here..

I seek as big of a sample size to look thru for parallels as possible.

Thats how i drew and posted conclusions like "Jamal Murray looks like a 5-star prospect IMO" watching the Hoops summit live in 2014..

Recruiting goes hand in hand with these threads. the posters in these threads who don't follow recruiting are the ones posting an overwhelming amount of the crappy ideas.

I say - If y'all followed recruiting there wouldn't have been 20+ people miscasting Trey Lyles last year.. I wouldn't have been one of the only ones actually confident he could shoot. Y'all wanted to paint my argument like it was absurd because it wasn't backed by stats..

I used to post Lyles had just as much if not more upside than Frank Kaminsky which people were up in arms over everytime I posted it, they'd ee that as some opportunity for a cheap shot at Trey(while being oblivious to the fact I was correct.. they had stats that said otherwise and tons of conviction about it)

That's cute. If you had a semblance of reading comprehension, you'll notice I didn't ask you to stop talking about recruiting period, I just said in this thread. In case you have trouble reading, this is for the 2016 NBA draft. We have multiple other threads in which we can discuss players who will actually be eligible for those drafts. Of course, one could say that throwing them all in one bunch instead of an actual organized area would be lazy, but we all know you're not lazy.

It's a simple request, made fairly politely. You don't have any reason to go off on another one of your rants because you're so incredibly insecure about yourself and your opinions. Understand?

cool, at this point i prefer Carlton Bragg over Ingram anyway, this video convinced me.

So where should we draft Carlton Bragg?

Ingram is mocked at #2 or #1 on most sites, we have to trade up.

Why would we need to move up to get Ingram?
Bragg is okay, but if Ingram is not as good as Carlton is... let someone else have him.
I'd take Fresh Prince 10 of 10 over Carlton.

I like Korkmaz as a prospect for the Jazz, but am not sure if he's THE GUY at 12.

I like Maker over Skal due to mental toughness and competitiveness. I see too much PJ3 in Skal and get scared.

I like Jaylen Brown over both Stanley Johnson and Justise Winslow from last year's draft. He has better offense than Johnson and moves better as a result of being 20 lbs lighter.

I don't know jack yet about Beasley or about half the bigs in the first round of this draft.

I feel really solid about a Gobert-Favors-Lyles-Withey big man rotation next season. We'll see where Tibor fits into that mix after another offseason of development. If we stay at #12 and BPA is a big, cool, but I hope we target a guard in this draft.

We need more productivity out of the PG/SG positions, period. Exum's return should help this, but nobody knows for certain what we'll get from him, and I think the PG options on the free agent market will be barren (Conley won't sign with us). The draft is probably our best chance.

I'd love to see us move up to the #6 or #7. I think one of Dunn, Brown, or Murray will still be there and I love them all. I realize Brown isn't a PG, but a wing rotation of Hood-Hayward-Burks-Brown would be phenomenal and give us a ton of options in a 3-wing lineup.

Great post.
I don't see Brown as changing things much... At all, really.. But either of Dunn and especially Murray would.

PG AB
I see you think Nojel number 1 player in Illinois but my sources say watch out for Jordan Goodwin from the East Saint Louis Metro. Most big ten teams on him and Texas and UConn just offer and he is a player who is going blow up into top 40 by time he goes to college.6 foot 3 and STRONG. Lets just say he is so strong at this current time that he could be one of strongest NCAA guards this year and he is just a senior in High School. One of them tough as nails kids that people hate playing against butlove on own team. Peep him out.
