Following 2016 potential draftees

Yeah, agreed. Once Newman drops 50 on his UK team, Skal will be separated to the lower part of the first round. ****ing scrub.

Newman will have a hell of a season. He will need to score 50 if MSUjr is to ever break 60.

We will hear Jamal Murray's fate later this week but source its 'not looking good b/c of Kentucky's admissions & attendance policy'

PKM What's that about?

PKM What's that about?

It's about whether he plays for team Canada and can get cleared.
UK is trying to help him play for Canada but the NCAA (aka, the devil) may not deem him eligible if he does. Exploration is being done.
Murray wants a clear path to the NBA. He wants to play for UK, get drafted highly, and play.
He has two decades to play for a medal, he will skip this year and stay on target ... playing for a medal, later. (IMO)

Yah, that sounds reasonable. Will that mean he won't be able to play even at the Olympics if they qualify?

That would be up to the Canadian National Team. But other than Cory Joseph they are not to good at the PG position so good chance he will make the Rio team if he wants to play in the Olympics. Just my two cents. Karnowski and Sabonis from Gonzaga are both playing for their national teams right now and Eurobasket goes even further into September than Fiba Americas so I wonder how that works out.

Nigel Hayes is the player to get in this draft if we think we are going to be picking somewhere between 15-20. I hope he doesn't rise above that. He is the most Draymond Green player in the NCAA right now.

I also like Tim Quarterman out of LSU. He really needs to improve his long-range shooting, but he is a versatile 6'6 combo guard who could go in the mid to late first round. Could be a good Dante Exum backup.

Ben Simmons!

I just don't see how he's going to bull his way to the rim in the NBA like he did last year, without getting the ball ripped or swatted. He's not a great rebounder like Millsap and he's not even explosive like Anthony Bennett, 2 players of very similar proportions.

If Hayes has a monster season and puts Wisconsin on his back, 15-20 maybe, anything less and I think hes in danger of falling to the second rd, like Draymond Green. I wonder how he will look without Kaminsky spacing the floor, I think its almost certain his FG% will suffer.

While Canadians are on topic. Kentucky has the 2 best Canadian Prospects incoming to the NCAA.

There's another that seems worthy of mention here(well maybe in the '17 or '18 thread). Commited to SDSU, Nolan Narain. He's originally from the class of 2016, but moved into the class of 2015 a week or 2 ago. It seems like he's going to red-shirt this year to further prepare himself for his college debut.

An interesting sequence of events being that he was heading into his Sr. of HS just a few weeks back..

6'9" faceup forward with a 7'1" wingspan and a sweet jumpshot (kind of has a funky release) and deep range (3pters are in play). he looks pretty good at a few things, seems to have an NBA frame. Worth keeping an eye on for sure.

Hayes is the same exact height as Green and actually has a half inch longer wingspan. I'm curious how his standing reach will measure out. That said, I think Cy's comparison is decent except for the fact that Green was much bulkier/stronger than Hayes (though Hayes is) and much more skilled of a passer. Hayes did have 2.0 assists last year and that could increase significantly this year. Overall, I like the comparison. He could be our 3/4/and maybe in some rare cases 5 guy.

I'm on this Hayes bandwagon big time with Cy now. Gonna be watching him closely. I'd love to see 16ppg on 50/40/80 this year. I doubt he'll be quite this efficient with K and Dekker gone but if he can, that would be damn impressive. Throw in my hope of 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists too.

I just don't see that type of positional flexibility, he's gotta grab more boards this year for me to buy that he can do so in the league.. Draymond Green can slice thru the defense in the NBA, I don't think Hayes is that type of quick.

My questions mainly are about how he will do once the players are taller, and react faster. I just don't see enough pep in his step..

If he can also increase his ast's while keeping his FG% at 50% and maintaining the 3pt accuracy, I'll certainly re-evaluate my stance. As of now he seems like a Poor mans Millsap IMO, who's not nearly the same factor on the boards.

Trey Lyles getting drafted can't be a good sign for the Jazzfanzers hoping for Hayes (just saying).. right?

was thinking, If Theo Pinson (UNC) returns from his foot injury 100%, but doesn't have the greatest season, and still declares for the draft like J.P. Tokoto did last year.

He could be an interesting wing player for the Jazz in the 2nd round, I'm rather convinced he'd be a great buy-low target..

6'6" long arms, athletic, better all-around prospect than Tokoto IMO. he's not a good shooter by any stretch, he's not nearly as hopeless as J.P. in that regard and shows flashes in other parts of his game.

The boards disparity probably has a little to do with pace of play. Wisconsin plays extremely slow.

Green wasn't some great rebounder in college.

3.3
7.7
8.6
10.6

Obviously Hayes isn't as good but Hayes could end up near those numbers and has a lot of flexibility, maybe even playing some 2.
