What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

#15 Oregon about to tip off vs 5-0 Fresno St. Watch Tyler Dorsey, Dillon Brooks and Chris Boucher, it's early but they appear built for the tournament. Boucher is the x-factor. Dorsey and Brooks are young but I'd trust them to ice games. Dorsey was $$ vs a superior Team USA squad.

Guess I should read up on how Dorsey got on the Greek national team.

I said able bodies.

Maybe for the pg. Exum will be back. Neto should be better. We have Burke of course too. So all that makes me lean toward no but if we could get some 34 year old vet who is willing to just be a leader, sit the bench and play 15 minutes in case of injury, then I'd say yes. Kirk Hinrich who's a UFA comes to mind. Maybe Jarrett Jack if we're looking for more of an offensive-minded guy. He too is a FA. Regarding the 2. Slide Burke to SG all you want but then we'd have Burke, Hood, Burks, Hayward, and the draft pick you mentioned who can play the 2. That's unnecessary redundancy.

Agreed but I think this is what Lyles could become.

Agreed. Big time. There also seems to be a decent amount of these 4/5 types this draft.

You can all get the Furkan out of here.

Michigan's Duncan Robinson shoots 3's so well, he's going to be a pro. there's doubt in my mind. Including this first half he's 18/30 from deep to start the season.. As I've said before, he reminds me of Steve Novak.

Cheick Diallo's about to debut on ESPN3 vs Loyola. Expected to get around 20 minutes.

-Wayne Selden would be a good 2nd round pick for the Jazz. swap him with one of Chris Johnson, Elijah Millsap or Ingles. He turns 22 shortly after the 2016 draft and is certainly showing improvement of late.

-Kansas would be much better off with Devonte Graham running the show. It's painfully obvious. Mason continues to play absurdly out of control.

- Diallo starting to put up stats in bunches in the 2nd half. He and Bragg coming off the bench is just an absurd advantage for KU.

-LaGerald Vick looks good in limited minutes. KU's stacked with talent. That's why I had them #2 pre-season

-Solid showing for OSU in a loss to #10 Virginia, particularly Marc Loving and Keita Bates-Diop(who's scored in double-digits every game this season)

- Purdue's frontline is massive, and rebounds and blocks shots well, they also can shoot -- the real kicker is they can pass too. Swanigan is kinda like a blue-collar version of Trey Lyles.

- Texas struggling with UT-Arlington..

- Moses Kingsley with another 20-10 game for Arkansas

- Elijah Brown going off for UNM in the first half, 4/5 from 3.

Monte Morris? He has everything you want in a PG. Nice size, facilitator, takes care of the ball, good shooter, gets to the rim, patient, defends, high bball IQ, plus athlete, etc.

Currently averaging 7 assists and 1 turnover.

Yeah not a bad player, most likely a 2nd round pick, not sure if I buy those Pan-Am measurements, they seem a bit inflated.. I saw they were struggling to separate from NDSU near halftime. I don't really like watching ISU... Surprised to see his 3pt shooting is down.

Melo Trimble and Maryland looking all sorts of nervous with all these TO's.. He's got no chance at the 1st round if he's going to continue to play like this.

Diallo just aced his debut. It looked to be off to a rocky start in the first half. 13 2nd half points, and all sorts of rebounds, blocked and altered shots had KU looking dangerous in the 2nd half.

Really good player actually. Will drop like Draymond did because he's not the sexy potential guy, but he's just damn good at basketball.

Not sure what to think of Trimble. Didn't like him in HS, he surprised me with his play frosh year, but just doesn't look like an NBA player to me.

Both need to shoot better from 3 then I'll be able to post more.

Upset brewing at Pittsburgh. Pitt was down 17 vs #11 Purdue right away but has swung the momentum and now the crowd is going nuts. Haas with 4TO's after a hot start, and now 3 fouls.

6'8" SF Sophomore, Vince Edwards at Purdue looks like a player though. He's got 5 assists and is 2/4 from 3 so far. 7' wingspan. Check his stats out, their great across the board.

Isaia Coordiner, who just turned 19 the other day, is playing well enough in the ProB leagues to get drafted in the first round, thru 6 games. He'd be in the first round of my mock if I updated it today.

Just had a monster game vs his old club ALM Evreux.

25-4boards-2asts-2stl-1blk on 9/14 from the field, 4/7 from 3. He's really athletic so production like that will go a long way. 13/19 so far from 3 in 6 games.. He always looked like a great prospect. Would be an absolute steal in the 2nd round, i'd look to give him a Jordan Mickey type contract if the Jazz are fortunate enough to be in that position.

Very interesting machinations on DX's latest mock. Gotta say I saw(and posted) some of this stuff before it happened.

-Was saying Tim Luwawu is top-20 for some time, since last season. Now he sits at 15.

-Stephen Zimmerman is in the 2016 mock now. He'll get heavy minutes with Goodluck X-ferring from UNLV.

-Wade Baldwin up to #28 in the 2016 mock. Been saying he looks like a possible 1st round pick this year since they put him in the 2017 1st round mock months ago.

-If the board plays out like that, with Malik Newman possibly falling to the Jazz pick. That'd be a great scenario to add some firepower..

-They've snuck Tyler Lydon into the top-20 in 2017!!

-I'd love to hear the explanation behind dropping Zhou Qi to 18. He's killing it in the CBA.

- They have 23 year old A.J. Hammons from Purdue in the 2nd round, he was magnificent last night vs Pitt, absolutely on fire the entire 2nd half, even threw up a heat-check from 3 and drilled it. Had the dropstep working. He looked like he could play some minutes for the Jazz last night tbh. Worth keeping an eye on.

been checking around on the international prospects that haven't been mentioned here in a while..

- Lets start with a new name Blaz Mesicek.. A lefty wing player from Slovenia with a solid handle and scoring instincts. He's projected as a 1st round pick in 2017 by DX. Looks good IMO.

- Jonathan Jeanne is now in the lottery of the 2017 DX mock.

-Georginho is performing well so far, 5/9 from 3 in 6 games, he's dishing assists, grabbing boards and not turning the ball over. Which if he can continue, is more than enough to get drafted.

- Alpha Kaba with a new team has only played 2 games, and posted good numbers in both. 0/2 from 3, should be interesting to see how that range works for him.

- Guerschon Yabusele does a bit of everything, averaging 9 and 6 in 23 minutes. he's still 19 for a few more weeks and is getting more minutes by the game for SPO Rouen Basket. His shooting %'s are good across the board. One could say he's a Trevor Booker type of prospect. I'd compare him to Nigel Hayes though, that sort of player and younger.

- Ante Zizic isn't 6'11 but he's close and born in 97, I think a team would take a flier on him in the 2nd round this year, even though he's got years of eligibility left to burn.

- Slow start for Vasileios Charalampopoulos on the Panathinaikos so far. Probably won't be seeing him in the 2016 draft.

-Slow start for Paul Zipser the best 1994 born auto-elligible prospect in the draft.

- Not much to report about Youssoufa Fall, he turned 20 yesterday.. he's 7'3, 270lbs and mobile so well worth checking in on. Same can be said about 7'2 Georgios Pappagiannis.

That always is the problem with people like Zipser, Charalmpopoulos, Korkmaz and Venzenkov. If you sign with the big boys you are liable to see your minutes limited. I think Porzingis played for a perfect team. Sevilla is not one of the best Euro teams, but playing in the Spanish league still got him a lot of attention. Nevermind the idiots who were calling him a mystery man.

13/25 from three so far in 7 games, thats Furkan pretty good. If Korkmaz continues to perform lke that in limited minutes, It won't hurt him much. There's a thinner crop of SG's too so he might get a bit of a pass like Hezonja.

Also;
What did you make of the L to Michigan last night for the Wolfpack?
