What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

He's doing very impressive things. I don't think anyone is hating on the guy. Having concerns about taking him in the top 3, as some have suggested, is totally reasonable.
Ya. That's all up to each person's opinion.
We were discussing his unreal numbers I thought.

And posters were like. Other guys have been as good as him shooting the ball and busted. And I think sjf just showed that other guys have not been as good as him shooting the ball.

Ok. If you aren't going to accept clear facts this discussion is pointless.

Also you understand by playing in a better conference he has better players on his team setting him up?
Is the big 12 better or worse than the mcw and wcc?
Clear facts?

Degree of difficulty? Now you're grasping at straws and making things up. You can't measure degree of difficulty. Lol. Jimmer 59% and Morrison 60% in the MWC and WCC respectively. Not close to Hield 67% in the big 12.

But nice effort.

In his defense, Morrison and Jimmer did play in brutally tough conferences.

This is about how he projects as an NBA player.

That's not what I was discussing with you.
How he projects is a dumb argument because it's 100% opinion.

I say you curry, you say jimmer or whoever. It's just speculation, protection, and opinion.

I thought we were discussing whether other college dudes had done what he did.

The Big 12 is pretty decent, but the talent that Hield has played against at his position is pretty weak. That matters.
As if you know every player he has went against and how good each of those players are lol.

Besides he can only go against the guys on his schedule.

I didn't say they were as good at shooting as Bield, but every year there are players putting up gawdy scoring stats on good %. The difference is most of these guys are on smaller schools (because if you go to a big school and are actually good, you are usually in the NBA before you become a senior or you have high profile under-classmen coming in who take shots away from you) and have to create more of their offense, which results in worse % while Hield is on a pretty good team where he has other players who can play also.

You know when you play in a "better" conference you also have better teammates setting you up.
So then we can just throw conference and competition level out of the discussion then apparently. If you play in a good conference then you go against better opponents..... But you also have better teammates. So it cancels out I guess. I didn't bring it up btw.

But you go against worse competition and get more opportunity too.

This is fun.

I think he is a total stud and should be picked near the top of the draft. Other people don't think that.

That's really what it comes down too.

No big deal.

Yeah but if you strength is spot-up shooting then you will benefit from better teammates more than you would playing against smaller/less athletic competition where you are forced to create nearly 100% of your team's offense.
