Following 2016 potential draftees

That's interesting and might be telling. There are a lot of Serbian players in the draft this year + Luwawu played in Serbia last year.

Was my thought too... Gathering some Intel on Luwawu and the young bigs.

Chad Ford's new mock is up:
https://insider.espn.go.com/nba/ins...eltics-suns-wolves-shake-top-10-sixers-lakers

Interesting things:
-Utah gets Poeltl
-Chriss is at no. 4!! That's a second high-profile mock with him going top 4.
-Bender drops to 6
-Dejounte Murray goes 10 to the Bucks!!! WOW!
-Maker goes no. 19. I think that's the highest I've seen him.

Some of these players are just rising for no reason. Chriss for instance has been getting alot of hype for his athleticism lately, but this was know many months ago. Just tells you the draft is super wide open. Picks 3-16 going to be all over the place. Where did Ford have Baldwin at?

Chriss is rising because of the phase of the pre-draft process we are in - workouts in empty gyms where his best attributes(crazy explosive athleticism+shooting without contests) are highlighted and his worst attributes are hidden and not tested(rebounding, hustle, defense).

Would you rather have Poetl or Baldwin and Maker?

If Poetl fell that far I bet we could get a pretty big haul from the Celtics for him. 16,23,31 and Jerebko? They have too many players and too many picks right now.

Basketball isn't black in white in my mind. There's plays that are inefficient that are efficient in other ways. The True Shooting is just desciribing his finishing ability. His drives have become more sophisticated over the years and he's garnering attention when he does it. Like no other on the roster right now. So he creates space by doing it. He's also become more accurate from the perimeter to balance out his game. He's 25, he's got more upside in my opinion. I wouldn't drop him unless you get a really nice return as his contract is so team favorable.
99% of the league is black or white

I'd have a tough time putting much stock into Burks last year. I don't know that he ever got a rhythm because of the injuries. I think you also have to figure his Usage rate when considering his rank on the team as far as TS% goes. He uses a lot more possessions than the other guys and the more possessions you use the more inefficient they become generally. He also plays more with bench guys so there may not be as many efficient scoring opportunities when he is on the floor.

If it was Burks and #12 for Murray though you do it without hesitation.

I think Burks + 12 is too much if I look at current mocks. I think Murray will be a baller though.
Agree about Burks injuries affecting his efficiency.

I would trade him straight up for redick. The only bad part is redick only has 1 year left.

Looking at the skillset I agree. But he's turning 32 this month. Idk if he'd be part of our contention core. Even though some of those shooters have interesting post physical prime performance levels.
If I were to target a shooter, I'd offer the MLE to Jerryd Bayless, who shot 44% from deep on 4.5 attempts per game and gamble that he can stabilize his newfound shooting capability. Remember that Milwaukee had terrible spacing, so parking one defender on Bayless would have been really easy from a defensive standpoint for opponents.

Another sneaky shooting upgrade would be Jared Dudley. He'd be paired with Gobert in lineups and unclog the offense more with his shooting than Favors can. Especially in bench lineups, where you wanna give Exum/Burks free reign to play screen and dive with Gobert he could space the floor around it.

Arron Afflalo could be another interesting signing candidate. Though I doubt he'd consider Utah where he is in his career unless he's getting seriously overpaid.

This Marqueese CHriss dude has a very developed body for someone who turns 19 soon. HIs release looks weird, he seems to make his shot work though. Prototype small big when you look at where the league is going. Quick, strong, skilled. So I understand the hype. His frame is kinda limited, but another 10-15 lbs are possible.
What's his biggest strength?

BTW he has some nice game in the post and good touch around the rim too.

Yeah, his shoulders look small to me, but he has great weight and length.

I mean I'm not an workout expert, but the stuff I picked up from following basketball is that doctors dont advise to do much weight lifting before you're 18 because it affects a growing frame/bones/body too much.

I believe that is a myth my friend... As long as the lift with proper technique and such. It may take until after their teens to pack on a ton of muscle though.

That Chad Ford mock had the Bucks reaching for Dejounte Murray at 10. I would have thought the Bucks would take a big, but if they want a guard its an easy phone call from Justin Zanik to swap 10 for 12 and a 2nd-rd pick.

i believe it was stuff about muscles weighing too much and putting too much stress on the skeleton while it's still growing. And that helps develop a ****ed up spine and stuff. I won't trust fitness coaches ZERO in that regard though as they're trying to make bank and help grow their economy while having little to no education.

but anyways, i can see how everybody can see how his skillset develops with his magnificent body. Age on his side as well. I just don't think he'll be selected at 3. Even though the Cs are good for surprises.

That is super old science, as in wrong.

Poeltl draft would be a home run. Jazz are in desperate need of a low post scorer. Favors has struggled at times. Gobert is just a finisher at the rim and lyles is a face up player.
