Following 2016 potential draftees

If Thon was half as good as some people here think he would be a top 8 pick at least, especially in this draft.

Was he not picked in the top 8? Did the draft already happen without me knowing about it?

Did kahwi Leonard go in the top 8? Jimmy butler? Did dirk go top 8? (The answer is no btw). Paul pierce? (No)

Sometimes players are really good but get passed up for some reason. Maybe thon gets passed up because although he is very skilled he is also very skinny and raw. But with a great work ethic and well developed skills and some maturing of his body he could be great.

No I don't think so

Don't like the weak draft talk after listening to it here for years.
The 2013 draft was supposed to be the weakest ever. Yet the best player out of this draft looks to be better than the best player in the 2014 draft, which was called historic in terms of superstar talent level and depth.
2015 was talked about as rather average once again. But Towns, Porzingis already look like they're gonna develop into legit franchise player and future top5/10 players in the league with how basketball develops.

So much noise in footage, competition and data at such a young age. These highschool observers, college recruiters, they get it right only so often. Calipari recruits 5+ 5 star and a couple 4 star kids every year, knowing that half of them will disappoint and their actual career is most likely gonna be bench warmer/overseas star.

You gotta find someone you like and think he's worth giving a shot. And then you spend your effing draft pick on him.
It's individual cases and if you don't like anyone for various reasons, then try to make a trade with someone who likes their chances of drafting someone at that position.

With Maker there's a lot of polarizing and one sided coverage.
If what his camp states about his work ethic is true, then he's shown little improvement for the time spent in the gym. I'd give other kids the benefit of the doubt if I had to make a decision with a high pick.

Waaa.. Don't care if you like the talk or not.

It's weak in that I don't think there is really a strong 2nd tier of likely potential All-Stars, it has a strong mid 1st round quality tier though.

That wasn't my point. I just wanted to mention how ppl have assessed the draft as a whole wrong 3 times in a row, especially at the top. That included the majority of the media, ppl on this board(including myself)

If I understand teams correctly, they shy away from Maker because he's got very savvy representatives/handlers to express my thoughts more deliberate than Danny Ferry's scout...
There is little to no quality footage as he's still only played high school with mixed results. His body at the stage should be such a big advantage over the other small kids, that it's super hard to evaluate if he's actually good. I'd argue the shortcomings in accurate predictions everywhere suggest that there's something to that hypothesis.

No Thon for me please. Thanks.

Unless he is still on the board with the 52 pick, and 3 other euro's I like are off the board.

He's worth the risk after the 20th or so pick. Go listen to him talk... He's either a faker or extremely mature, smart, and driven. I'd bet on the latter combined with his physical gifts.

Maker to me will be on the low end a pj brown type. Good defender, solid guy, can knock down enough 18 footers to keep defenses honest. I would not take him before the 20th pick but after that is be comfortable with the risk reward there.

I agree with Locke (I think) on two players. I would be thrilled with are Ingram and Murray. I don't see how the Jazz could do it, I'm not even saying they ought to pursue them, just saying I would geek out if they somehow got one of those two.

The semi realistic guy that I'd be stoked about is Jamal Murray. He should be the consensus 3rd pick in this draft to me.

Misread and thought you said Ingram and Simmons... So yeah I'd be real happy with Murray and think it might be a real possibility.
