Following 2016 potential draftees

One last Baldwin thing, then I'm done. One key stat that shows me improvement in ball handling from him was that in roughly the same minutes per game (2 more his sophomore year), he doubled his FTA per game. Some of it was role, but he wouldn't be able to do that without a better handle...so why should we assume he won't continue to improve it when he's only 20?

Your handle is definitely one of the harder skills to significantly improve.

I'd enjoy a list of players with significant improvement to their handles from their college days.

All I can think of is Paul Millsap, really. There's a long history of everyone else falling short.

Upcoming cap crunch? Nah, we should have signed matthews, carroll, or Danny green to a huge contract last summer and next summer we should give Hayward the 5 year super max.
Then we will just max favors, gobert, exum, hood, and lyles when their contracts are up.

Cap crunch? No such thing under the new salary cap that is coming. Hell, we need to worry more about just getting to the salary floor.

In 2 or 3 years we have a cap crunch if we give mega extensions to favs and Hayward and extend Hood Exum and Gobert smartass... :)

I think none of these prospects @ the 12th pick are going to happen...

I think DL is going to trade down. For some reason I seem to get the idea that we like multiple players that can be had lower in the draft.

Well, if all that's true, then I guess Poeltl could fall to us.

Would anyone NOT be okay with picking Poeltl at 12?

I think Poetl has more value to us as an asset rather than a player. Plenty of guys above us that would give up something to get at him. I think if he is there, we get him but maybe don't keep him.

Decent amount.

Millsap
Thompson
Curry
Hayward
Westbrook
Redick
Iggy

Those are just off the top of my head. It's difficult, absolutely, but easier than improving a players bball IQ.

Westbrook has a much better handle than he did in college. He may be the exception that proves the rule though. . .

Wade Baldwin is to dribbling and finishing around the rim what J Murray is to defense.

Hayward has improved his handle a good bit. I think most players improve their handle, but mostly stay in the general range of their original ball handling abilities. I don't see a PG handle for Baldwin, not even close. He can refine what he can do, but I don't see him ever being a guy you can rely on to bring the ball up the court against pressure on a consistent basis.

I'd be happy.

It's possible to improve in that area with none in ball handling. You're reaching.
Exum got a good handle though, he was just to weak his rookie year.

I remember seeing Exum doing some fancy dribbling and nasty crossovers in the future stars game his rookie year. I remember thinking where did that come from.
