Following potential 2012 draftees

I don't think his shot is that unorthodox. I really believe the main issue is that he doesn't jump high enough when he shoots. He gets no power behind his shot, then will sometimes try to compensate with funky arm movements. It's fixable, imo.

It doesn't look right. His follow through looks good though. And you're right, sometimes he shoots on the way down and sometimes it's on the way up. Maybe that's all...but I don't like how his arms move when he shoots, something seems off.

EDIT: I think it's his arms. He doesn't pull back his arms and it almost makes it like a push shot.

Yeah, it's a weird shot no doubt. Seems a bit to rigid too me, but it's not that unorthodox.

He shoots with his arms. I know that sounds funny but a good shooter shoots with their body and their arms are an extension of their body. He jumps but seems to flick the ball at the basket with his arms. If I was his coach i would work with him shooting with a motion from the jump to the follow through. Would get a lot more power behind his shot.

Basically what I've been saying.

I am going to throw out a second round sleeper Elias Harris from gonzaga. He was a first round talent last year but didn't improve from a good freshman year. He could be had in the second round if he comes out. Good 3 pt shooter too.

I love Gonzaga, my fav college team by far. I like Elias too! Although, they have kind of killed this kids development. They forced him to play PF and it has not been that great for him. He was awesome as a freshman, he showed good athleticism and a decent 3 point shot, rebounded well. He went from a potential 1st round back when he was a fresh, to a probable 2nd round pick after his senior year. Sad story.

Anybody like Terrence Ross? He is a pretty athletic guy that can shoot well too.

Also, has Marquise Teague unimpressed everyone this much? I remember they used to say he was much more of a pure PG then his brother. But, it seems the knock is he can't run half-court offenses very well?

I'm not huge on combo guards but, Tony Wroten's shot doesn't look like it is totally garbage as far as mechanics go. He is actually a pretty good passer. If he could improve his shooting (and only if he could improve his shooting) I would like him.

As pg's go, and because Harris has turned me off to scoring pg's who can't run an offense, unless we are drafting Rivers to play sg I want no part of him. Teague can't run an offense, I don't have interest in him. I have no Knowledge of this Kabongo. That leaves Marshall, unless Kabongo has really good pg skills Marshall is the tops in the pg pool. PKM, where do you see Marshall going in the draft.

As long as GS is outside the top 7 it's looking like we will have two picks in the lottery as the Jazz schedule only gets tougher. Dont get me wrong I'm hoping they make the playoffs, but I'm starting to wonder if they will win enough games. If this plays out, my dream draft would be KG, Sullinger and trade Harris or someone for another pick for Marshall. This team has a chance to be the cream of the crop in a few years.

My guess would be around 20.

He's okay. I'd take him high teens, but I'm not convinced he'll translate well .. bbIQ is questionable.

Also, has Marquise Teague unimpressed everyone this much? I remember they used to say he was much more of a pure PG then his brother. But, it seems the knock is he can't run half-court offenses very well?

Teague, at one point, was ranked #1 prep player in the nation. At one point, he was mock drafted to go as high as #3. What we've learned is he can't shoot and his bbIQ is not on par with elite PG's. Having said that, his stats in the past 10 games are literally twice as good (scoring/assists/turnovers) as the beginning of the year. I don't think he'll ever be a great NBA pg .. but I think he'll get a lot better than I thought he would just a month ago.

I'm not huge on combo guards but, Tony Wroten's shot doesn't look like it is totally garbage as far as mechanics go. He is actually a pretty good passer. If he could improve his shooting (and only if he could improve his shooting) I would like him.

His shot his hot, smelly, rancid trash. I predict it always will be. I also think Marshall has a much better chance of fixing his shot which makes him a smarter pick, imo. Yes, Wroten makes nice passes (fun to watch) but I think he's a SG (with no shot) trying to be a PG. I pass .. unless he's a 2nd round pick.

EDIT: Also, Wroten's 20% 3pt shooting and 56% FT shooting tells the story entirely.

I have been noticing that Millers name is rising on Chad Fords board. I know that many don't trust his board but I think that overall trends are accurate.
