Following potential 2012 draftees

Hypothetical draft question. Here is the situation I was thinking about - Let's just say that KOC trades either millsap or Jefferson to a team and solves the sf issue on the team. Who doesn't matter just that he gets a good sf that is a decent 3 point shooter. Who do we select?

There are still no great pgs in the draft I like lillard but not sold on him not to mention I wouldnt take him with 9th pick. This draft is loaded with big men do we take a project like Meyers Leonard? I am not sold on him. A flyer on perry jones? One of the zeller kids? Henson might have the most talent of the bigs on the board. What if Sullinger was available?

Or do we nab another 2 guard like rivers, beal or lamb?

Wow I love this years draft. I hope we get 2 picks

In the situation were the team gets a SF that is a good shooter then our biggest hole is clearly the PG position. In this scenario I think drafting Lillard is a very real possibility if he stays about where he is at on the draft board (8-14). Also since this scenario involves trading a big then I think the Jazz would either need to play Evans more (what I would like) or get a 3rd string backup big.

Most of my ESPN draft machine scenarios have the Jazz getting Lillard and Meyers Leonard.

I honestly don't see us passing up Perry Jones if he slips to our first pick, unless he looks terrible in workouts or something. He has the potential to be the best player in the draft.........not saying he will be, but could be. He would be hard to pass on at 8-10ish, IMO.

Most his players are nba ready the minute they step on campus. Josh harrelson is thwe 1 that pops upo that wasnt but A he wasnt cals recruit adn B cal didnt even wanna play the kid. Rose. nba ready
Wall.Nba ready
Cousins.Nba ready
Knight .Nba ready
Get the drift?

If cals such a great coach why did he FAIL in the nba? If the 1 and done rule wasnt in place none of these guys would of even played college ball. Or you wanna disagree with that?

Wall and Cousins I can agree with about only learning a little at Kentucky. But Knight really, really struggled to begin his college career.

I really like PJones A LOT at #8. I hated him when they had him in the #1 to 4 range.

Can you imagine a Perry Jones/Austin Rivers draft for the Jazz? One of those guys would HAVE to turn into something special or this organization would be cursed sum'fin fierce.

I am still nervous that he will turn out to be all hype. When he plays hard I love his game but I think it is like a 1 to 4 ratio of hard working games to non existent games.

Oh I fully agree, and when he was projected at 4ish in last years draft I said there is no way I'd take him that high. BUT he has a VERY rare skill set for a guy who's 6'11". If you could just get the kid to give a **** or have a killer mentality (Jesus, what am I saying......we are not the team for him then...) I see Durant-esque talent with even more height.

To me, say at 9-10, he's then a low risk, high reward pick. I'd take a flyer at that point.

I can see that. Pairing him with Rivers might just be the key and that only makes the Jazz that much better of a team.

Having those two would greatly help the Jazz shooting and unclog the middle so our bigs can get down to business.

I still like Rivers and QMIller. Either Rivers pans out as a PG or we play a point forward offense (Hayward?) ... and we'd have two wings in the draft that are 40+% from behind the arc.

I wish people understood (or maybe I'm just wrong?) that the best thing for our young bigs is to get the floor spread ..
