Following potential 2012 draftees

Marshall cannot and will not be an NBA player unless he develops a shot. People will play 5 feet off of him rendering him ineffective. I like the kid and want him to succeed, but unless he develops a shot he won't.

His shot isn't that bad. He shot 40% last year from three. Give him 5 feet and I think he can do that again. True he isn't a great shooter and won't be draining any J's in people grills anytime soon, but he can hit the open jumper at a decent rate.

I disagree with you stating that he can hit the open jumper at a decent rate.

He shot 37% from 3 and 41% from the field overall last year, including 69% from the line. This year, he's shooting 35% from the field, 30% from 3 and 75% from the line. So his FT shooting has gotten better, but everything else is just bad. The thing is, with all of the guys on that team, he's getting open looks, he's just not hitting them. At his height, he should be able to shoot over people but his mechanics are bad so he can't. I'm just saying, UNC hasn't played a good team outside of UNLV yet, and his percentages are absolutely terrible. I know it's early in the year, but his shot just doesn't seem to be improving. So basically, no, he can't hit the open jumper at a decent rate.

He has also barely shot the ball this year. Sample size to small to tell if he has digressed.

Yes and I mentioned that in my post, and once again I'll bring up the point that the teams he has played are UNLV, South Carolina, Tennessee State, Mississippi Valley State and UNC-Asheville. UNLV is good, South Carolina might be decent and the rest are trash. He's shooting approximately the same amount of shots that he took last year, he's just not hitting them. I'm not necessarily saying that he's digressed, I'm saying he's never been a good shooter to begin with. It's not like he's taking difficult shots, he's generally always open when he shoots.

I don't let who I root for effect how I view opposing players NBA prospects. If you look back, you would see me continuously saying that I thought Tyler Zeller would be an effective player in the NBA. Do I like UNC as a program? No. Do I recognize when they have good players? Absolutely. I think Marshall is an amazing college player, and he fits UNC's offense very well. He does have the added benefit of playing with people like Harrison Barnes, Zeller, John Henson....guys that he can just give the ball to and let them do work. Obviously he has amazing vision and is a great passer, I just think he will struggle in the NBA. As I said earlier, He's Marcus Williams from UConn all over again.

Watch out for Tyler's younger brother Cody. He has played extremely well with Indiana so far. So looks like Marshal Plumlee is going to be redshirted correct?

You left out Michigan State, but yeah, most teams haven't had strong schedules. It's the non-conference schedule.

Thanks especially love the ginger in this vid.

I've seen Drummond many times in person and love everything about him, but Anthony Davis is just better in everyway early on. He will be special where as Drummond has the potential to be special.
I don't disagree with any of this, just want to emphasize that Drummond's potential is to be an absolute ****ing monster. Davis is a nice player, but he's not that.

Davis's body just worries me a little bit. What if he never develops a strong body? What if he never develops skills?

Even if Drummond never develops skills, he will still be a defensive presence both in weak side, man to man, and plugging the middle and a rebounding force.

Yeah, Cody does seem to be playing well so far. He needs to put on some weight like most freshman do, but he's obviously got the pedigree to be a good low-post player. Pretty incredible that he's hitting like 72% of his shots right now, obviously he won't keep that up, but still impressive. I was very happy that he didn't sign with UNC.

I believe that Marshall Plumlee is going to be redshirted, right now he's behind his two brothers, Ryan Kelly and Josh Hairston. Coach K usually runs a pretty tight rotation so I doubt he plays this year. I have my doubts on whether he'll ever be anything more than a defensive presence though.

Yes I did, don't know how I forgot that game.

I don't care that most teams haven't had strong schedules, that doesn't matter at all to the point that I'm making. What I do care about, is the fact that he can't even make open shots against poor competition. That's not a good sign IMO.

Just disqualify yourself. At least until you offer explanation/stats/empirical data. TIA.

Bradley Beal went off today. Finally had a game I was looking for him to have.

22 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assist, 3 blocks, 5 of 9 from deep range

What's with his rebounding? I'm almost positive that's his second double digit rebounding game so far. Wouldn't have expected that from an "undersized" SG

He is the 3rd tallest player in their starting lineup, and their PF is a tall white guy who shoots 3's.

That's it. He's a crazy scorer, great shooter, insane rebounder (for his position). Good to see .. great kid.

He has great form on his shot, but his ability to move without the ball, come off screens, and release the ball instantly is what seems to be drawing the Ray Allen comparisons.

Overly romanticized comparison, imo (big time). I am a lover .. for years, but wanna see what he does. ..
