Following potential 2012 draftees

MKG also has the "I will never have a consistent jump shot" factor that will make him a niche player in the NBA.

INTERESTING storyline developing for this Saturday's game against undefeated Indiana. Teague is from Indiana, received a LOT of hate tweets (etc.) from the fans their when he chose UK, the vitriol between the fanbases is off the charts (Indiana mostly, seriously), and here's a little story ..

Jeff Teague had a conversation with Marquis that he's not playing like himself (I'm going to keep the story short, unless anyone wants more detail). Marquis was so motivated by his brother's lashings that he said, "The old Mookie (nickname) is going to show up at Indiana this Saturday .. and if not, I swear I'm not declaring for the draft for another year."

That last part doesn't mean all that much, but Marquis, for better or worse, just put the challenge on himself. It'll be interesting to see if he has a coming out party .. or has 10 TO's from just trying to hard/forcing it.

Same reason people have a fat 'hell no!' for Rondo. But it's okay for Marshall, I guess.
No it's not. At least not for me. Without a jumper he won't translate to a starter, or maybe even a rotation player.

Thank you. I just didn't get that whole 'no to Rondo' and 'Gilchrist will be limited' (type statements) and then be high on Marshall ..

Whether you like Rondo or not (I believe I recall you don't?), there is NO way Marshall will be able to be anything near a Rondo .. or a Gilchrist for that matter (just obvioulsy different positions).

Not saying what you are saying is completely false, but if you have the ball in your hand most of the time it's not as big of a deal as if your an off ball player.

I'll give you that. Let's just say we agree and only separated by semantics and who we predict will be better. Fair enough?

What does he mean by "old mookie"? That he is going to be a ball hog and try to do everything himeself?

He specifically said to show his ability to get to the rim and dunk on people .. Rather than playing more passive.

Teague has dropped to last place among the 3 top PG prospects at #30 overall. Marshall has gone to the top, #19 overall.

DX also has Teague out of the draft. I guess they are expecting him to not improve tremendously and go back for a 2nd crack at it. Which makes sense because UK has yet to recruit a top rated PG to replace him, so he wouldn't get much competition to dethrone his starting position.

Saw that and, at this point in the season, is about right. I'm not a big Teague fan .. but who knows? This time last year, Knight was a fringe first rounder because of his early season erratic play.

Difference is Knight can flat shoot the ball, plays poised, is a gym rat, a good leader, highly coachable, and a very nice BB IQ.

I'm not disappointed in the mock as I think it's a deserved move .. and I've always felt Marshall should go in the 20's.

Kidd-Gilchrist could be a starter. He needs to develop his shooting, but even if he's just so-so, he could be like a Ron Artest or Andre Igoudala--a physical player and relentless defender. He seems like a more interesting prospect than Kawhi Leonard. For what it's worth Bryon Russel couldn't hit an unguarded foul-line jumper when he first got drafted, and he became an adequate shooter within a couple of years.

Let me ask this -- where would Kendall Marshall be rated as a PG prospect next to Kemba Walker and Jimmer Fredette ? Both those players went in the top 10, albeit Jimmer for the wrong reasons.

That is an awesome and perplexing question. I think Marshall is a better PG than the other two, but lacking the shooting of either and reduced 'star power.'
This question GREATLY illustrates the difference in strength from last year to this year's draft, imo.

I'd take K-G 8 days per week over Leonard .. laughable even. I think people need to watch a dozen of Michael's games before they let the shotting become overly worrisome. He's a special player.

But with the revenue split and system issues taking so much time, there was little opportunity to change the non-economic issues. The draft age limit will remain 19 years at least through the 2012 draft -- the league would have liked to go to 20, the players would like to abolish it entirely --

Agree here. He has looked good in the games I have seen. Leonard is not in the same class imo

Couple of good matchups today.

Undefeated Kentucky playing at undefeated Indiana. Matchup to watch? Anthont Davis vs. Cody Zeller ... not to mention Teague has promised a huge game (to those close to him, not publicly) against what will be an absolutely BRUTAL crowd against him (IU fans hate him for choosing UK over the 'home school.').

Undefeated (and #2 ranked) Ohio State playing at Kansas. Though they don't play the same position, per se, it will be fun watching Sullinger vs. Robinson.

Both games on ESPN.
