Following potential 2012 draftees

This is my stab at what I think the Jazz's projected draft board looks like at this juncture of the college season. What do you guys think?

1 Davis -- defensive phenom who can play out on the floor
2 Drummond -- big-time talented big, you have to take him
3 Jones III -- a guy who can create mismatches and either score or feed the post, Lamar Odom type
4 Kidd-Gilchrist -- all-around, high-energy player
5 Q. Miller -- tall SF with passing & scoring upside
6 Barnes -- shooter with some upside
7 Henson -- back-up PF/C, stretch-Armstrong defender
8 J. Lamb -- quick, gifted shooter
9 Beal -- well-rounded back-court player
10 Rivers -- back-court energy player with ability to get to the rim
11 T. Jones -- rebounder/defender, a big, physical SF or back-up PF with some post-up ability (a slightly bigger Millsap)
12 T. Ross -- Alec Burks with a more confident shooting stroke and a bit more explosiveness around the rim

Somewhere around 7 - 9, the Jazz would probably pick Sullinger and/or Thomas Robinson as part of a draft-day trade scheme.

Not bad. I'd move Henson down a few spots and I'd move TRoss out and replace with Rivers.

I still put Barnes over K-G.

I've got them very close. Love K-G's intangibles, but I've still got this feeling that Barnes is going to get tons better. Barnes is just a little mentally weak, imo. Similar, but not as bad, as TJones, Drummond, and a couple others.

Barnes just has a pro game. That is why I like him. I feel like everything he does will translate.

I like him, it's just...his ball handling scares the crap out of me. Every summer he goes to the CP3 guard camp to improve his handle, yet I never see anything different from him. It's like he just views ball handling as a way to get his man off balance so he can take a fade away jump shot from 20 feet out. He doesn't seem aware of the fact that you can use ball handling to GET TO THE RIM for an EASY shot.

After seeing the impact of Jason Terry in last year's POs, and watching the Clippers tonight with Mo Williams, Chauncey Billups and Chris Paul, it occurs to me how great it is to have a player or two who can shoot well off the dribble. It just makes that player and the team as a whole tougher to guard when a player can put the ball on the floor, step up or step back, and then shoot a high percentage. Whomever the Jazz draft should have this ability, as right now, our shooters don't seem to shoot a high percentage off the bounce.

Well too many more of these articles and the Jazz will never have a chance to draft the Kidd. When I saw him play for USA junior team, I said to myself, this kid reminds me of Michael Jordan. Now I am not saying he will be as good as MJ because he has a LONG, LONG way offensively to be a score like Jordan. It was mostly on the defensive end of the game and the way he carried himself. I just sensed a quiet confidence and a drive to get better. For me, this is my guy. I just hope that GS pick is a number 8 pick because I doubt he will go lower than number 8.

The more I see of Harris the more questions I have about him. He seems mechanical and his basketball handle is still bad. I would be ok with Harris but I still would rather have MK.

Well, this definitely does not describe Barnes. Gilchrist has the best game (handle, passing, defense, etc) to get there but his shooting touch (shooting 51.5% FG, 37% from 3, and 77% from the line), at this point, leaves something to be desired.

JLamb could certainly fill this role just as QMiller has a decent game in the regard.

Not the ideal size, but more talented than any of the aforementioned is DLamb. He has a beautiful midrange pull-up, floater, gets to the rim, shoots 50%+ from 3 and does it all with a truly eerie poise. Just not sure 6'4.5 will get it done with the big boys.

I would be willing to take a chance on Tony Wroten with our 2nd pick in the draft. He seems to have the most raw talent of any prospective PG in the draft, but he needs a bit more discipline.

Even more K-G from today's game (more on that in just a moment).

Most of you probably know that Gilchrist's dad was shot and killed when Michael was only 3yrs old.
Most know his uncle stepped in as the father figure in his life.
Most know, only moments before Gilchrist's signing of his LOI, his uncle collapsed of a heart attack, and Kidd-Gilchrist went on with his signing ceremony.
Breakfast club.
etc. etc.

Today, K-G's mother was rushed to the hospital prior to game time. K-G was set to immediately head home when family called from the hospital, "your mom is stable, she needs a surger, but not until tomorrow, she wants you by her side over Christmas, but wants you to go out and play today. He did. Winner.

Arnett Moultire 24,14, and 4. Best PF in the Nation.

A. Moultire > T. Jones

Glad to see you took my advice about pimping Moultrie more so than Hood, at this time. He's a very good player. Hard to say who's better between Moultrie or Jones, but I wouldn't bet against Moultrie.
