What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

Tyler Zeller is soft and flops a lot. He is a good offensive player, and will be a decent Starter/good backup somewhere. I just don't like him.

Mike Moser had another good game yesterday. It seems like he's hardly even regarded as a draft prospect this year.

So anyone check this dude out yet? I'm not going to drop it until someone gives him a look, then goes back to their man crushes.

I believe Jay Bilas called him the second best PG in college behind Marshall. So some high praise from a very knowledgable person.

We've discussed him a little bit in here .. he's just not very well known yet.

Keep an eye on him this year.
I have a feeling he's going to be a stud.
I hope Iona wins their conference and we can see him in the Tourney.

I doubt Jay Bilas has watched him that much, probably just looked at his stats like we all have done.

Also, I hate Jay Bilas more than any announcer in the world not named Chris Collingsworth

Jay also called Jordan Taylor the 2nd best PG in college .. guess he's a whore.

How do you NOT like Bilas, btw, he's the best, easily.

His stats are amazing...there's just not many highlights of him that I can find. But yeah, hope we see him in the tourney.

I found a few bits and pieces with him in them. Iona lost by 1 to Purdue but should have won, and beat a good St. Johns team. I don't think they will have much competition in their conference so we should see them in the Tourney unless they lose in their conference tournament. That would suck.
In what little I've seen he seems to be able to get people the ball in good spots while on the move. They have a highly recruited PG behind him that gets playing time and takes the ball up for the offensive sets, but the other 80% of the time Machado brings the ball up on a break. He seems to make really good decisions based on his high assist/TO rate, and his high shooting percentages. He seems to be able to play some D as well, almost 3 steals per game so far.
I'm sure the stats will drop some through the year, but they could stay fairly high too considering who he has to play in conference.
I read somewhere that in the off season he spent time with the Brazilian National team, and that was the biggest difference for him, and secondly he dropped 10-15 lbs and is now a gym rat added to the high conditioning for their run style offense. That is why nobody really heard of him before, I guess he didn't put much effort into getting better before, and now that he does he has improved dramatically.

You heard it here first folks, we pick up Scott Machado in the next draft.
Mark it down if I'm right, but forget about it if he stinks the rest of the year.

Basically he is the next Jimmer?

Anthony Davis is definitely a defensive presence with his combination of length and quickness. He's credited for 8 blocks tonight, but I think he's had more than that. He's just flat out hard to score against. Unfortunately, his offense looks like the college version of Tyson Chandler. He runs out well in transition.

Teague isn't that convincing. He's a decent ball handler, but he's not really taking people. He has a hard time finishing inside, and his shooting stroke is suspect. Adequate passing ability, but not super visionary. Not shooting the ball well, but he just hit a three.

Terrence Jones is a bit more than an aggressive energy player on both ends. Good athlete. Challenges on defense. Goes at the rim on offense with okay touch. Good size, quickness and power. Good handle in the open floor. Good offensive rebounder.
