What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

This was my first chance to see Lillard play. And he did some nice things but other times he seemed a little skittish. Then he'd drive to the hoop with the utmost confidence. I dunno. Judging from this one game - I'm not super confident with the idea of grabbing him in the lottery.

Color me less than enthused.

Yes, he was skittish to start the second half. But at the end of the night he had 29 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists. So if we're judging just from this one game, I like what I saw.

Barnes and Rivers .. that other guy is a good guy, great college player, but will disappoint in the NBA .. if he's taken top10 .. and he will.

I had him at 14 :)

And for me to even consider a Buckeye says a little something

Once a couple guys declare they're going back, the 10-14 range isn't going to be looking quite so good. If the dominos fall the wrong way we might be left with Zeller, T Jones, Leonard, and Lillard to pick from in that range. He doesn't look so bad now does he?
Yeah, have to wait and see how it all shakes out come draft. I was just hoping to be as wowed as many of you are at finally seeing Lillard play.

And spycam counters with Lillard's impressive numbers. I admit, I feel kinda dumb not jumping on board - given the impressive stats. And he did have some nice drives to the basket. Not to mention that NBA 3 he pulled off. But I"m not on board yet. I know the jazz need a PG but I don't know that he'll be BPA anywhere in the lottery. I'd hate wasting picks just to fill needs.

Color me hesitant.

I'm hoping to be impressed with a PG in the tourney (Rivers? Marshall?). I'd like the Jazz to find a stud PG if at all possible. Just not at the expense of BPA.

Utah making a strong push for the playoffs and GS is starting to slip. Perhaps the discussion should change to sleepers in the 2nd round and who Utah might be able to sign as the next Wesley Matthews (i.e. undrafted FA).

Don't get me wrong, if there's someone who is clearly BPA, then you take him. Even if he doesn't fill an immediate need.

And I'm by no means 100% on the Lillard bandwagon, I just think there's enough reason to like him that I wouldn't be mad if we picked him.

We've been doing that .. about 20 pages back .. yesterday, lol. Check out Darius Miller.

Too soon....but things are starting to slip. That GS pick is going to be a tough one.
And as far as Utah goes....Hayward's got his confidence back and Favors dominated today... Good thing we have Al/Sap, and CJ on the team. Hopefully Ty gives more minutes to CJ, then we'll be good for at the very least, pick #14.

I still don't see the playoffs happening, and never have.

Also, there are currently seven teams in the Eastern Conference ALONE that have worse records than GS. I'm not too worried about losing either pick.

If that happens we have plenty of assets to get us in the mid first, then we can get Marshall.

Cool. I see why everyone's intrigued with him. Certainly worth entertaining the idea rather coming to immovable conclusions after one game. A game in which he compiled very nice stats too. We'll see. My education is weak.

Okay ... we have Lillard .. Marshall .. PJonesIII .. MKG .. Tjones .. Jlamb .. Sullinger .. QMiller .. every time we have a game, we have a wave .. fun times.

I'm all for BPA, but sometimes BPA isn't so cut and dry. Lillard may in fact be better than Rivers. He may be a better overall player than any of the SGs or PGs in this draft.

True .. and well said. Having said that, wanna bet on Lillard vs. Rivers?

Please?

Possibly...it's just so hard to say that when you look at his level of competition.
