What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

One more thing on 6'9" Kyle Wiltjer (76 of 82 threes in 5 minute drill), I went back and looked at his shooting and in the last 6 weeks of the year, he's shooting 64% from behind the arc. He'll be a weapon next year when he gets more playing time.

I was coming to this thread to say that we needed another UK player being pimped by PKM. You read my mind.

There are worse guys than Steve Novak as your 10th/11th guy. That's all I have to say about Wiltjer.

For the lazy .. here's who's playing in the tourney today (of those we've discussed);

- MKG, Teague, Davis, TJones, DMiller, DLamb, Wiltjer
- John Jenkin, Jeffrey Taylor, Festus Ezeli
- PJones3, QMiller, Pierre Jackson
- Drummond, JLamb, Napier
- Sullinger
- Moser

Once again you are forgetting Hartstock!!

I have a crush on Jae Crowder. I just love him. As complete a player as you'll find. He does so much that doesn't show up in a stat sheet, just affects the positively in every phase.

Like him a lot. You almost have to. His tireless work ethic, bb smarts, and other intangibles are simply apparent. My hesitation is that I don't know that he has the handles and athleticism to effectively play the NBA SF spot .. and too small for the PF. He reminds me a bit of a collegiate Chuck Hayes with a much better shot.

Let's say he is basically Chuck Hayes with a 3 and can score opportunistically otherwise, how the hell do you not draft that at the right spot?

I would. Hayes with a 3 would actually be pretty scary .. well sorta. I think you draft him knowing what he brings to the table, not to try to completely change his game.

Look at it from this angle, too: Millsap insurance policy. The Jazz have control on what he does for the next year and a half, but they have much less control over his free agency. And that's the bare minimum angle. Maybe he can play SF, maybe he can't, but when you find a player that versatile, you should probably just find a way to get them (within reason) and then figure it out from there. Good things almost always happen when he's involved in a play, the right pass, the right shot, a charge, a block, helping on D but not getting a steal or block but still forcing a bad shot or turnover, rebounding, whatever. That's something else.

For those that watched Damian Lillard play against Montana and thought Montana looked good ..

They played 15'ish ranked Wisconsin today and got smoked by 24. Not saying that says anything about Lillard .. it's just a reference to Montana playing a ranked team.
